The Ø119.4 mm, 18W underwater light (code 00596) represents a top-of-the-line lighting fixture for subaquatic applications. With its impressive array of 9 LED chips arranged in a concentric layout, it provides uniform and extensive illumination. The design is optimized for high brightness and versatility: the single-color versions (white or blue) employ 9 × 3W LEDs, while the multi-color version (4C) features 9 RGBW LEDs, allowing each LED to emit red, green, blue, or white. The total power draw is about 18W, indicating a serious lighting output.

Materials & Design: The housing is made from a special engineering polymer that is highly resistant to corrosion, UV radiation, and impact. This makes it ideal for prolonged underwater use without risk of cracking or material degradation. The fixture’s dimensions (119.4 mm diameter, 23.6 mm thickness) classify it as a large unit – suitable for medium to large yachts where ample transom or hull space is available for installation. The lamp is a flush-mount design and doesn’t require a large cut-out – only a hole for the cable and small screw holes for mounting. The included cable (approximately 0.9 m / 3 feet in length) simplifies connection to your power source.

Light Characteristics: The white version (00596-WH) provides the highest illumination – approximately 1100 lumens according to the manufacturer. This is blindingly bright and will illuminate the water behind your boat over a wide area. The blue version (00596-BL) outputs around 238 lumens, which, while lower, is chosen for its aesthetics – blue light is perceived as “softer” and more luxurious, and it’s entirely sufficient for decorative purposes at night. The multi-color version (00596-4C) allows selection among four colors: red (~166 lm), green (~501 lm), blue (~100 lm), and white (~575 lm) light output from each LED cluster. When emitting white light, some of the LEDs either combine colors or use dedicated white chips (depending on design) to achieve a total of ~575 lumens – slightly lower than the dedicated white version but with the advantage of color versatility. Switching colors on the RGBW model is typically done via an external controller or toggle switch (not included), allowing the user to set a static color or program certain sequences/modes (e.g., color cycling or pulsing).

Installation & Usage: This lamp is intended for serious applications – large yachts, charter vessels, party boats, or even dock installations. It mounts on the transom or hull areas below the waterline, where it can illuminate a broad expanse of water. Because of its larger size and weight, it’s recommended to mount on a flat, sturdy surface. The power input is universal – supports both 12V and 24V – which is a huge convenience (the 10–30V DC range covers standard boat power systems). A built-in driver ensures stable operation even with voltage fluctuations. Drawing 18W, this lamp is more power-hungry than smaller models, but still efficient – it can be run for extended periods off a standard marine battery without issue.

IP68 ingress protection ensures the fixture is completely sealed – it can remain submerged indefinitely, and all electrical components are potted in resin to prevent any water intrusion. With proper installation, there’s no risk of condensation or leakage.

Captains who choose this model typically seek a maximum “WOW” factor – a brightly lit “swimming pool” behind their yacht, grabbing attention in the darkness. The white lights provide functional brightness (for example, for night diving off the swim platform or checking the propellers after dark), whereas the colored lights – especially the blue and RGBW – add an entertainment element. With red light, you can create a dramatic atmosphere; with green, you can attract fish (it’s known that some marine species are drawn to green light). The RGBW variant gives you the freedom to experiment – one night your boat can glow an icy blue, the next night a warm inviting white, depending on your mood or the occasion.
