Sea-Line Universal Epoxy Filler 2:1 is a go-to solution for almost all standard repairs on a boat’s hull and deck. Being an epoxy filler, it’s suitable for use even on parts that remain submerged (below the waterline), unlike polyester putties. This product features an improved formula that provides faster curing and convenient handling, making it perfect for quick repairs.
With a 2:1 mixing ratio (by volume), this filler is easy to prepare and has a smooth, creamy consistency for effortless application. One of its key attributes is a relatively short curing time – about 5 hours at 20°C, after which the repair can be sanded. This means if you fill a defect in the morning, you can move on to priming and painting by the afternoon, saving valuable time.
- Small osmosis fixes: Ideal for repairing isolated osmosis blisters or small patches affected by osmosis. After removing the damaged material, this filler will fill the cavity and cure quickly, restoring smoothness and strength.
- Surface damage: Effectively fills scratches, minor dings, and cracks in gelcoat or paint. For example, if the hull is scuffed from docking, the universal filler will swiftly restore the shape before repainting.
- Easy finishing: After ~5 hours at 20°C, the surface becomes hard yet still easy to sand. The filler sands relatively easily and evenly, helping you achieve an impeccably smooth surface ready for paint.
- Packaging: The 0.75 kg kit (A+B) is perfect for small jobs and a must-have in every boat owner’s workshop. For larger projects, a ~7.5 kg set is available (component A ~5 kg + component B ~2.5 kg) to cover bigger areas or multiple repairs at once.
- Finishing steps: As with all epoxy fillers, it’s recommended to apply a coat of epoxy primer after sanding, to seal the repair and enhance the adhesion of the next paint layer. The Universal Filler is fully compatible with subsequent coatings – whether you plan to apply a 2K polyurethane topcoat, a 1K enamel, or antifouling paint over it.
