Nylon "Y" Connector for Water & Fuel Hoses – Ø10, 12, 14, 16 mm
The nylon Y-connector is a handy fitting that enables you to split or combine flows in your boat’s hose systems. This type of connector is invaluable when you need to divert liquid from one source into two different lines or merge two flows into one. Made from high-quality nylon, it is lightweight yet strong, resistant to corrosion, and unaffected by fuels, oils, or saltwater.
The “Y” connector comes in several sizes covering hose inner diameters from 10 mm up to 16 mm. These cover the standard hose sizes for outboard engine fuel lines as well as water hoses for cooling systems, pumps, showers, and other onboard plumbing. By selecting the proper size, you ensure a snug fit of the hose on the fitting without significantly narrowing the flow path.
Installation is straightforward – simply insert the ends of the Y connector into the hoses. The barbed ends grip the interior of the hoses to hold them in place, and securing with hose clamps ensures there will be no leaks or slippage under pressure. The nylon material withstands temperature fluctuations and vibrations in the marine environment, maintaining its shape and strength over time.
- Ø10 mm (Code 03387-1): The smallest size, suitable for narrower fuel hoses on small engines (up to ~50 HP) or for splitting freshwater lines in small boats.
- Ø12 mm (Code 03387-2): A versatile size commonly used for fuel lines on mid-sized outboards or for water system splits (e.g., dividing flow from a pump to two outlets).
- Ø14 mm (Code 03387-3): A medium diameter ideal for branching larger hoses – for example, in the cooling system of more powerful engines or distributing water to multiple fixtures onboard.
- Ø16 mm (Code 03387-4): The largest size here, great for high-flow needs – such as main water distribution lines in bigger boats, or splitting fuel supply in twin-engine setups with a shared tank.
