These Orange Eltex fixed tanks are intended for permanent installation in motorboats, RIBs, and yachts, providing a reliable and certified solution for storing gasoline or diesel on board. They are made from high-quality cross-linked polyethylene (Eltex) known for exceptional strength and fuel resistance. Unlike metal tanks, polyethylene tanks won’t corrode, won’t produce rust scale, and add less weight to the boat, improving your vessel’s payload and maintenance. Each tank is officially certified (with CE marking) and has passed type-testing by RINA (Italian Naval Register) according to ISO 21487. This means the design, materials, and construction meet the strict safety and reliability standards required for marine use.
Orange Eltex tanks are colored bright orange, which aids in visual inspection and identification of the fuel system in the bilge. They come factory-equipped with all key connections: a wide filler neck with screw cap that can be used for direct refueling or connected to a deck fill inlet; a fuel vent fitting (typically Ø16 mm) to equalize pressure during filling and consumption; and a bottom drain plug that allows you to remove condensation and sediment or completely drain the tank for winterizing and cleaning. The tanks are pre-configured for a fuel level gauge – on the top, a universal 5-hole SAE flange is molded in, allowing you to install a mechanical float gauge (e.g., Osculati 52.037.00) or an electric sender (240-33 Ω or 10-180 Ω, compatible with marine gauges) according to your preference.
- 42–55 L tanks: Suitable for smaller motorboats (~4–5 m) or as auxiliary fuel tanks. Their compact dimensions make them easy to install under rear seats, in small bilge compartments, or beneath the console of a RIB. They provide enough fuel for short to mid-range trips and can serve as reserve tanks on longer journeys.
- 70–96 L tanks: Ideal for mid-sized boats (5–7 m) with outboard or inboard engines of moderate power. This capacity range offers a good balance between volume and weight, supporting full-day outings or moderately long cruises without refueling. A tank of about 80–90 L is often favored for boats with engines around 100–150 HP.
- 100–140 L tanks: High-capacity tanks intended for larger boats and cruisers (7–9+ m) or those with higher fuel consumption. A single 140 L tank holds enough fuel for lengthy fishing trips or high-speed runs, greatly extending the vessel’s range. These sizes are also well-suited for twin-engine setups (e.g., one tank per engine, depending on configuration).
Each tank in the series features thick walls and an internal structure that withstands vibration and waves – this prevents potential cracking under impact or constant motion. Installation can be accomplished with strap kits or mounting brackets (the tank bodies have flat areas/tabs to accommodate secure fastening). Thanks to the lower weight of polyethylene, the overall load on the boat is reduced, and maintenance is simplified – there’s no need for special corrosion protection, just occasional rinsing with fresh water. Orange Eltex fuel tanks deliver European-certified safety and quality, while offering flexibility with their range of sizes to integrate into your boat in the best possible way.
