This giant inflatable racing buoy is built to provide exceptional visibility and reliability when marking courses in sailing regattas. Its cylindrical shape and bright color (orange or yellow) make it easily recognizable from long distances – a critical feature for race crews maneuvering around the marks. Made from reinforced PVC, the buoy withstands pounding waves and prolonged sun exposure, maintaining its color and integrity throughout the racing season.
For ease of use, the buoy is equipped with two large valves – these allow for quick air pumping before the regatta and rapid deflation afterward, facilitating transport and storage. Integrated into the bottom are four reinforced loops for attaching lines with weights or an anchor. The placement of these attachment points around the base ensures that when tethered, the buoy remains upright and steady without tilting, even in wind or current.
On the sides of the buoy, you’ll find transparent pockets designed to hold sponsor logos, advertisements, or identification numbers for the mark. This feature turns the buoy into not only a functional course marker but also a visible advertising platform during the event.
Use and recommendations: The smaller size (Ø90 x 150 cm) is well-suited for local club regattas and training races where lighter, easy-to-handle buoys are sufficient. The larger size (Ø150 x 160 cm) offers even greater visibility and is recommended for major regattas and open water courses, where marks need to be clearly seen from afar. Both types of buoys can also be used outside of sailing – for example, to delineate swim race courses, triathlon turns, or temporary exclusion zones on the water. When properly secured with a weight (using a sufficiently heavy anchor or weight bag is advised), the buoy will stay in place throughout the event. After use, simply deflate, fold, and stow the buoy – its compact size when deflated makes it easy to transport to your next event.
