The Mercury F115 is the best-seller in the mid-range, delivering 115HP in a compact and lightweight package. With its 2.1-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, this motor incorporates Mercury’s latest technologies – from EFI fuel injection to an advanced intake system – to provide outstanding power and acceleration. At about 165 kg (L model), the Mercury F115 is up to 9 kg lighter than competing 115HP outboards, which improves handling and saves fuel. The engine offers a Command Thrust version with a larger gearcase, popular for heavier boats and pontoons as it yields about 20% more thrust. The Mercury F115 is SmartCraft-compatible – owners can take advantage of digital gauges to monitor every parameter and even add Active Trim for automatic trim optimization. The motor’s sound profile has been optimized: at cruise, the F115 is up to 30% quieter than comparable competitor models, making long journeys more enjoyable. From a maintenance perspective, Mercury makes life easier with a top-cowl service door for oil checks without removing the whole cowling.
