These stainless steel D-rings are specifically designed for straps and webbing about 50 mm (2 inches) wide, making them ideal for tie-down belts and securing cargo. Crafted from high-quality steel, the rings are resistant to weather and saltwater, so they can be used with confidence outdoors and in marine settings. Each D-ring is fully welded – a construction that ensures there are no weak points or sharp edges. This protects fabric straps from being cut or chafed under heavy tension.
Two versions are available based on material thickness:
- 6 mm D-ring (approx. 50x45 mm inner dimensions) – This version is meant to handle very large loads (thanks to the strong 6 mm steel bar). It suits most standard use cases: for example, strapping a boat to a trailer, tying down a jet ski or ATV, or securing heavy luggage. Tests indicate a breaking strength of around 2.6 tonnes, providing a generous safety margin for typical loads.
- 7 mm D-ring (approx. 50x40 mm inner dimensions) – This version is even more robust and is intended for especially critical applications. With thicker material, it withstands extreme forces and is perfect for situations demanding maximum reliability – e.g. securing a very heavy boat or yacht on a trailer for long transport, or as part of lifting equipment and heavy slings. The breaking strength is substantially higher, offering peace of mind even under extreme forces.
The versatility of these D-rings makes them useful not only in the marine sector. They are often employed on utility trailers, trucks, and off-road gear for cargo restraint. In scuba diving gear, for instance, 50 mm stainless D-rings are standard for belts and harnesses, where they can hold equipment and resist corrosion. Whether you’re securing a boat, a roof rack load, or a safety harness, these stainless steel rings will provide a combination of strength and longevity.
