Male Spade Connectors 6.3mm with Heat Shrink Insulation (Red/Blue/Yellow)

Code:
04367-1R

Insulated male blade connectors (6.3mm Faston) with heat-shrink coating, designed for secure mating with female terminals and panel receptacles. They provide a strong, water-protected connection that withstands vibration and tugging – perfect for boat, automotive, and machinery wiring. Color coding makes it easy to choose the right size for your wire gauge, and the standard 6.3mm form ensures compatibility with a wide range of components (switches, relays, fuse boxes, etc.).

  • Standard Terminal: Male 6.3x0.8mm spade – fits all standard female spade connectors and terminal blocks
  • Heat Shrink Insulator: After heating, the sleeve tightly encapsulates the connection, guarding it from moisture, corrosion, and shorts
  • Color-Coded Sizing: Red (0.5–1.5 mm²), Blue (1.5–2.5 mm²), Yellow (4–6 mm²) – for easy identification of the correct terminal size
  • Vibration Proof: Resilient design – the metal tongue and crimp joint won’t loosen under shaking or engine vibrations
  • Highly Compatible: Used for connecting to battery terminals, switches, lighting, audio gear, as well as creating in-line disconnects (male-female pairs) during wire repairs or extensions

These 6.3mm male spade connectors with heat shrink insulation are designed to deliver stable and protected electrical links in demanding environments. Each terminal is a standard male “blade” (Faston) measuring 6.3mm wide by 0.8mm thick – the most common size in automotive and marine wiring. This ensures the terminal will fit existing female connectors, relays, switches, or distribution blocks without issue.

Once a stripped wire is firmly crimped into the connector’s barrel, the heat-shrink tube is heated. It then shrinks around the connection point, including a portion of the wire’s insulation, forming an electrical barrier against water and air. A connection made this way can withstand direct water spray, high humidity, or salt fog without causing metal oxidation or contact failure.

Male spades are particularly useful for creating detachable links. By pairing one male and one female spade (matching size), you can introduce a disconnect point in the middle of a wire run – for example, between a dashboard and a device. This helps with repairing or replacing components without needing to desolder or cut wires.

Variants & Uses:

  • Red male spades (R) – For small wires 0.5–1.5 mm². Ideal for low-power devices and signal circuits. In practice, they are found in motorcycle, ATV electronics, as well as small boats (3–5 m) for connections to navigation LEDs, gauges, or sensors where currents are minimal. Red terminals are a good choice when adding extra LED lights or fuel/water sensors – they ensure easy disconnection if the component needs replacement.
  • Blue male spades (BL) – For wires 1.5–2.5 mm². This is the standard size for most applications: car wiring, mid-sized motorboats and yachts (5–8 m). Blue connectors are typically used for linking to light switches, panel toggles, horns, fuse panels, and for extending wires of pumps or radios. If you are replacing or installing new marine switches or push buttons on the control panel, blue spades will meet the current (up to ~20-25A) and safety requirements.
  • Yellow male spades (Y) – For thick wires 4–6 mm². Used in higher load circuits and larger vessels (8+ m). For example, for attaching high-powered spotlights, deck floodlights (halogen/xenon), or branches in charging systems from alternators/solar panels. In cars, yellow spades appear in connections to the battery or starter (in secondary circuits, not directly on battery posts), as well as off-road lighting setups. They can reliably carry ~30-45A when properly crimped.
  • Compatibility & Installation: All colors have the same blade dimensions (6.3mm); they differ only in the barrel size for the respective wire gauge. This means all our male spades can plug into any standard 6.3mm female receptacle (including those from product 04370). Always use matching colors when possible – this ensures optimal crimp strength (since the wire fits correctly). A useful tip: after heat shrinking and cooling, label the wire’s function (e.g. “+12V Ignition” or “Deck Light”) because while the terminal’s color indicates wire size, it doesn’t tell you its purpose – labeling will ease future maintenance.
  • We recommend keeping an assortment of all three colors on hand when servicing yachts and vehicles – that way you’ll always have the right connector for the wire at hand. Our terminals are compatible with global standards, so they can replace or work alongside existing installations from brands like Osculati, Blue Sea Systems, AMP, etc.
