The Honda BF8DK2 is an inline two-cylinder 8 HP outboard engine, ideal for medium-sized aluminum and inflatable boats, as well as an auxiliary (kicker) engine for larger fishing boats. Combining responsive power with Honda’s proven reliability, this engine gives you confidence and solid performance on the water. The BF8DK2 comes with a convenient engine tilt lever (5 lock positions at 4°, 8°, 12°, 16°, 20°) and a maximum tilt angle of 71°, which facilitates shallow-water operation and easy engine tilting when beaching or transporting the boat. The 222 cc OHC twin-cylinder runs smoothly with minimal vibration, and the Programmed Ignition System ensures optimal spark timing at all RPM ranges. The BF8 features wet sump lubrication and an oil pressure alert to warn of low oil and protect the engine. Buyers can choose between manual and electric start versions, as well as tiller steering or remote control – making this model adaptable to various setups. The alternator on the BF8 outputs 6A (standard) or an optional 12A (148 W) with the electric-start version, providing ample charging for batteries and onboard electronics.
