The Mercury F25 is one of the lightest 25HP outboards in its class, featuring a modern 526cc three-cylinder engine and smart engineering. With a weight starting at just ~60 kg (for manual-start models), this motor offers unparalleled portability for a 25HP unit. Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) provides instant starts and optimal performance without choke, adapting well to altitude and temperature changes. The three-cylinder configuration gives the Mercury F25 strong torque and smooth operation – reduced vibration and noise compared to twin-cylinder designs. Buyers can choose between manual and electric start, and tiller steering (with up to 180° rotation for tight maneuvering) or remote control for console-equipped boats. An integrated gas-assist tilt system makes it easy to tilt the engine out of the water. Certain F25 models feature Mercury’s Command Thrust gearcase – a larger gearcase with a bigger prop that delivers greater thrust and improved handling on heavier boats. The engine includes thermostat-controlled cooling and safeguards for over-temperature and low oil pressure, ensuring reliable running during long runs.
