Sea-Line S4 Protect Wax is a paste wax with a professional-grade formula that provides exceptional gloss and long-term protection for your yacht’s surfaces. Once applied, S4 forms a smooth, hard wax film that acts as a shield against UV radiation and contaminants – your paint or gelcoat is guarded from sunburn, yellowing, and chalking under intense sunlight. The wax also has hydrophobic characteristics, causing water to bead off and preventing salt spots and grime from adhering easily to the hull. This is especially beneficial for both the hull above water and the waterline area, as it provides a slight anti-fouling benefit (less dirt and growth sticking) and makes cleaning the boat easier. Sea-Line S4 Protect Wax is recommended for laminates (gelcoat) and painted surfaces that have been polished, by giving them a final mirror-like shine and “locking in” the achieved finish for an extended period. The wax does not leave any streaks or discoloration – even on dark paints you will not see holograms or a change in tone after application.
- Recommended Use: Use S4 Protect Wax as the final protective coat after polishing or deep cleaning the boat’s hull and topsides. It is particularly suited for large areas (hull sides, decks) made of gelcoat or paint that are exposed to intense sunlight – the wax significantly prolongs the time before the next occurrence of fading or oxidation. It is also ideal for off-season protection: applying it before storage or downtime shields the finish from weathering during the lay-up period.
- Application Method: Ensure the surface is thoroughly washed and dried, and preferably pre-cleaned with a specialized cleaner (e.g. C1 Super Strong or S3 Finish Cleaner). Apply Sea-Line S4 Protect Wax with a soft microfiber cloth or applicator pad, rubbing the wax in a thin, even layer over the entire surface. Allow it to haze for a short time (until it turns slightly matte), then use a clean microfiber cloth to buff in circular motions until the wax is completely polished out and a brilliant shine emerges. Tip: For an even higher gloss, you can buff the waxed surface with a polishing machine or by hand – use an orbital polisher with a soft sponge pad, or simply additional hand buffing with microfiber, to bring out the maximum luster. Work in the shade and in moderate temperatures for best results.
