Sea-Line C1 Bottom Cleaner is a specialized marine fouling remover formulated to clean the submerged portions of boat hulls. It rapidly and effectively dissolves and lifts organic growth and residues from the hull, which improves boat performance and prevents the damaging effects of encrusted marine organisms. C1 is economical to use and designed for do-it-yourself application – it empowers boat owners to keep their hulls clean without costly services. This cleaner is a strong acid-based solution (brownish transparent liquid) that works quickly; upon application, it visibly breaks down fouling deposits within minutes.
- Application Method: Apply C1 liberally to the fouled hull surface using the provided spray nozzle or a suitable brush. Allow the solution to sit for about 5–15 minutes to penetrate and loosen the fouling. For very heavy growth (thick layers of algae or barnacles), you may reapply the cleaner and let it work for an additional ~10 minutes. After the dwell time, remove the loosened debris by thoroughly rinsing the hull with fresh water under pressure, or use a soft sponge/brush while rinsing until the surface is completely clean. If any stains or deposits remain, repeat the treatment until all fouling is gone. Always rinse abundantly to ensure no acidic residue is left on the surface.
- Effectiveness: Sea-Line C1 breaks down various types of organic and mineral build-up: slimy algae and seaweed, barnacles, seashells, calcareous deposits and other marine growth. Thanks to its advanced formula, the cleaner penetrates and releases these layers from the gelcoat or paint without heavy scrubbing. The result is immediately noticeable – after rinsing, the hull’s surface is restored smooth and ready for subsequent painting or protective coating. Regular use of C1 after hauling the boat out helps prevent thick fouling layers from accumulating and makes routine maintenance easier.
- Important Note: Do not use C1 on surfaces coated with one-component paints (1K coatings), as the strong acid can damage such coatings. The cleaner is safe for gelcoat, fiberglass laminates, steel, and even copper-based surfaces, but for painted or sensitive surfaces always test on a small area to ensure compatibility. Before applying, pre-rinse the hull with water to remove loose debris and grit. Perform cleaning in a well-ventilated area or outdoors.
- Safety & Precautions: C1 Bottom Cleaner contains strong acids (pH < 1). Always wear chemical-resistant gloves, protective eyewear, and acid-proof clothing when handling to avoid contact with skin or eyes. Avoid inhaling fumes – wearing a suitable respirator is recommended for close-up work. Keep the product out of reach of children. If contact with skin or eyes occurs, rinse immediately and thoroughly with water and seek medical advice if necessary. After cleaning your boat, ensure you neutralize and dispose of runoff safely (rinse the work area with plenty of water).
