These black plastic cleats offer a combination of light weight and durability, providing a reliable tie-down point for your boat’s lines. Manufactured from high-quality nylon, they are resistant to UV rays and saltwater, meaning they won’t crack, fade, or corrode over time unlike metal cleats. Their smooth, rounded shape protects your rigging – ropes won’t chafe even with frequent use. This makes them an excellent choice for small craft and auxiliary applications where weight savings and gear protection are important.
- 100 mm cleat: The smallest size, suitable for canoes, kayaks, small inflatables, or as an extra fender tie-off point on larger vessels. Thanks to its compactness, this cleat is perfect for limited spaces and light loads.
- 130 mm cleat: Great for small motorboats (up to ~4 m) and dinghies. This size provides a bit more surface for wrapping line and can hold small to medium dock lines needed when mooring small craft.
- 165 mm cleat: A versatile mid-size cleat favored for boats ~5–6 m. It handles higher strain and is excellent for standard dock lines. Often used as the primary bow or stern cleat on medium-sized boats, or as an additional cleat for securing gear on deck.
- 205 mm cleat: The largest plastic cleat in the range, intended for bigger boats (~7–8 m) or as an auxiliary cleat on yachts. It can accommodate thicker ropes and greater tension, for example when tying up to a dock or securing large buoys.
- Note: Plastic cleats are designed for moderate loads. For primary mooring of very large or heavy vessels, using metal (stainless steel) cleats is recommended. However, for small boats and secondary uses, these nylon cleats provide an ideal balance of strength and lightness with zero risk of rust.
