Stainless Steel Rod Holder – Rail Mount 22–25mm (AISI 316)

Specifically tailored for smaller diameter rails, this stainless steel rod holder is perfect for boats with 22mm to 25mm railings – such as inflatable RIBs, small motorboats, or older vessels with narrower stainless steel guardrails. Compact yet strong, the holder measures about 230mm in length, providing ample support for your rod without taking up too much space along the rail. Despite its smaller size, it is built with the same high-quality AISI 316 stainless steel as our larger models, ensuring top-notch resistance to rust and a gleaming mirror finish that enhances your boat’s appearance.

The clamp design has been engineered to grip 7/8-inch and 1-inch rails firmly. Installation is straightforward: place the two halves of the clamp around the rail and tighten the supplied bolts. The interior of the clamp may include a rubber insert or smooth finish to protect your rail from scratches and to improve the grip. Once mounted, the rod holder’s tube (42mm internal diameter) will hold your fishing rod securely at a fixed vertical angle (90° to the rail). You can also choose the rotation around the rail before fully tightening – for example, point the holder straight up or angle it slightly outward from the boat, depending on your needs.

This rod holder is especially useful for small boats that lack built-in rod holders. It allows owners of dinghies, RIBs, or compact fishing boats to add a sturdy rod holding point without drilling into fiberglass or tubes. For inflatable boats, attaching this holder to a 25mm grab rail instantly adds fishing capability. Similarly, for a small aluminum boat with thin rails, this gives a convenient place to rest your rod while changing tackle or to troll a line slowly.

Despite being scaled for smaller rails, the holder does not compromise on strength. The AISI 316 steel and solid construction mean it can withstand the pull of fish and the vibration of the boat’s engine. It’s also great for rod transport: when moving at speed, having the rod in a secure holder on the rail means it won’t slide around on deck or get underfoot. The compact length ensures that the rod’s butt sits deeply, and the reel is close to the clamp, lowering the center of gravity and enhancing stability.

Maintenance is easy – simply rinse with fresh water after use to keep it shining. The clamp can be left on the rail all season, or easily removed when not needed, giving you flexibility. Because of its smaller profile, this holder also looks proportional on small boats (it won’t look bulky or out of place).

Recommendation: Use these holders on boats around 4–6 meters in length, or any vessel with 22–25mm rails. If you have a rail around the console or along the tubes of a RIB, placing two holders (one on each side) can set you up for hands-free trolling with two rods. Even on bigger boats, these can be mounted on secondary rails or even on chair backs or T-top supports of 1” diameter for extra rod storage in a pinch.
