This model is designed for situations where you prefer to mount the deck shower on a vertical bulkhead instead of horizontally on the deck. The Classic Evo "Mizar" wall-mount has all the features of the flush version – a Ø95mm white lid, recessed housing, and Mizar push-button shower head – but with an outlet configuration optimized for the hose to exit at a right angle, suitable for a vertical wall.
Where to Use: Most often, this shower is installed in the cockpit area or on the transom – for example, on the vertical surface of a cockpit coaming or the inside of a transom door. This placement allows a person standing in the cockpit to shower easily without bending down to the deck. Also, some boats install it in the head/bathroom as an additional shower – its compact size and tidy look make it suitable even for interior spaces.
Technical and Functional Notes:
- The installation dimensions remain the same (Ø70mm cutout), and the Ø95mm lid covers the hole after mounting. In a vertical mount, the lid opens on a hinge upward or sideways (depending on orientation) to provide access to the shower.
- The hose exits parallel to the wall (horizontally), which is convenient for stowage – there’s less sagging. When the shower is stowed, the hose hangs downward behind the box.
- Water System: Since no mixer is built in, you’ll either connect it to a cold water line or a premixed line (if the boat has a mixing valve somewhere below deck). There’s no on/off switch included – it assumes your pump is controlled by a pressure switch or a separate switch.
Practical Advantages:
- Space-Saving: Vertical mounting means you’re not using up any floor/deck area – important for small cockpits. Everything is contained in the wall, leaving the floor clear.
- Easy Access: For washing hands, dishes, or quick rinses, you don’t need to crouch; the shower is at a convenient height.
- Aesthetics: Like the other Evo showers, this one is very unobtrusive. The white lid on the wall might not even be noticed at first glance. This is especially valued on higher-end yachts where every piece of equipment must be both functional and discreet.
Example Use: Imagine a ~30-foot sailboat: after a swim, the crew climbs back on board. Instead of uncoiling a hose or using a floor-mounted shower, you simply open the box on the cockpit wall – the shower is right there. With a long 4m hose, you could even rinse off while standing on the lowered swim platform, with the hose running over the transom. Then tuck it back in – no clutter on deck.
