This flush-mount deck shower provides convenience without disrupting the smooth surface of your deck. Designed to be installed horizontally (for example, on the deck itself, a swim platform, or any flat area), its lid sits almost flush with the surface, preventing trip hazards and giving a professional finish. The “Mizar” flush model includes a chromed brass shower head with push-button control, set into a sturdy ASA recessed bracket. You have a choice of finish – a white ASA plastic lid, which blends in with white decks, or a chromed lid that matches metallic fittings and adds a premium touch.
When you open the lid, the shower handset is easily pulled out and ready to use. Press the push-button on the nozzle to start the water flow, and release to stop – just like the other Mizar showers. When finished, the hose and head stow neatly back below deck, and the lid closes to restore a flat surface and protect the unit from the elements.
Applications and Advantages:
- Stylish for All Boat Types: Thanks to the white or chrome lid options, this shower can be tailored to your boat’s aesthetics. The white lid is perfect for RIBs, inflatables, or yachts with white decks, where it virtually disappears into the surface. The chrome lid is favored on luxury motor yachts and sailboats with stainless steel deck hardware (rails, cleats), complementing the high-end look.
- Aft Deck Convenience: Flush mounting is especially useful on swim platforms or transom steps, where people often walk barefoot. Because the lid is flat, the risk of stubbing toes is minimal – an important safety consideration. This makes the shower great for yacht “beach club” areas or any spot where you want a hidden, clean appearance when the shower is not in use.
- Hose Reach: The 2.5m hose will meet needs if the shower is located near the stern or primary rinse area. The 4m hose provides extended reach – for instance, if you want to rinse down different parts of the deck or reach overboard to rinse dive gear in the water. On larger yachts with significant beam, the extra length means the shower can service a broader area without moving the boat or installing a second shower.
- Installation: Installation requires cutting a circular hole (approximately Ø70 mm) in a flat surface. The shower box has enough depth to store the hose (around 40-45 mm depth needed). Ensure there are no structural supports or obstructions beneath the chosen spot. Mount using the supplied screws and gasket to make it watertight, so that water cannot seep below deck. After installation, only the flush lid is visible – making it a sleek and subtle addition.
- Use and Maintenance: When you need a rinse after a swim, simply lift the lid, pull out the shower head, and activate your pump (if it’s not an automatic pressure system) – water will flow as you press the button. This shower is perfect for quickly rinsing kids off after the beach, washing salt off snorkel gear, or even a cool-down spray on a hot day. After use, feed the hose back in gently to avoid kinks. The lid’s rubber seal keeps water and dirt out when closed – check it occasionally for integrity. The chromed components (on the chrome lid and the shower head) can be lightly polished to maintain their shine, while the plastic parts should be rinsed free of salt to keep them looking new.
