Dock & Pile Fenders – Solid EVA Foam Bumpers for Marina Protection (Various Sizes)

Code:
33.519.38

Heavy-duty dock and piling fenders made of solid injection-molded EVA foam, designed to permanently protect your boat and dock from impacts. These UV-resistant foam bumpers provide maximum shock absorption and withstand harsh weather without deflating or degrading. They do not mark or stain your hull, even under hard collision. Suitable for mounting on dock walls, concrete piers, and round pilings. Available in multiple shapes, sizes, and colors (blue or white) to fit different dock configurations (straight strips, corners, cylindrical pile wraps, etc.). Key features:

  • Solid soft foam construction: One-piece EVA foam fenders that absorb bumps quietly and effectively – no air inflation needed, no puncture risk
  • Maximum impact protection: Thick energy-absorbing material ensures gentle docking; prevents damage in case of violent contact with dock/pile
  • Weather & UV proof: Closed-cell EVA is impervious to water, salt, and sun – won’t deteriorate, crumble, or lose performance over years of outdoor exposure
  • Non-marking surface: The fenders will not leave residue, scuff marks or rust on your boat’s gelcoat, even after repeated rubbing
  • Easy installation: Can be securely bolted or strapped to docks and pilings; various profiles (flat, corner, cylindrical) to match mounting surface – keeps your marina berth safe and boat-friendly

These marina and pile fenders made of solid EVA foam provide a long-lasting solution for dockside boat protection. Unlike inflatable fenders that you hang from your boat, these are fixed to the dock or piling itself. Once installed, they act as a permanent cushion on the hard structures, so whenever a boat comes alongside, it contacts the forgiving foam rather than wood, metal, or concrete.

Material & Construction: The fenders are constructed from injection-molded soft EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) foam, a material known for its excellent shock absorption and weather resilience. The foam is “solid” (not hollow), but it is a closed-cell structure, meaning it won’t soak up water. It’s slightly compressible: firm enough to hold shape and not tear apart, yet soft enough to compress under a boat’s weight to absorb impact energy. Because it’s solid, there is no air inside – so it cannot deflate, and you never worry about maintaining air pressure. It also means a stray nail or sharp edge won’t render it useless (as it would puncture an air fender).

Protection Performance: These fenders ensure maximum protection against knocks and weather influences. If a boat bumps the dock during mooring or due to waves, the EVA fender compresses and takes the hit. Even in the case of violent shocks – say a heavy surge causing a boat to slam – the foam will not crumble or fall off, and it will not scratch the boat. Importantly, the surface of the foam is non-marking: even if a white hull or polished yacht rubs intensely against a blue fender, it won’t leave color streaks or residue. This is a big advantage over things like tires or certain rubber bumpers which can leave ugly marks.

Zero Maintenance: EVA foam is extremely durable. It’s UV-stabilized to resist sunlight, and it’s impervious to temperature extremes (- it doesn’t get brittle in freezing cold nor overly soft in heat). It doesn’t degrade with salt or oil. Essentially, once you bolt these to your dock, they require no upkeep beyond an occasional rinse if you want to remove dirt or marine growth. They do not deflate, no need to adjust, and they can easily last many seasons (often 10+ years) without replacement.

Mounting & Sizes: These fenders come in various profiles and sizes to fit different docking needs:

  • Straight bumpers: e.g., long strips (800 mm, 1000 mm lengths, various thicknesses like 90 mm, 175 mm, etc.) that mount flat on the side of a dock or pontoon. They protect the broadside of a berth where a boat’s hull might press.
  • Corner pieces: molded to cover the corner edges of docks (often L-shaped or with a 90-degree profile), so that even if a boat hits the corner of a pier, it meets foam, not a sharp edge.
  • Pile fender wraps: cylindrical or semi-cylindrical fenders that go around round pilings. For instance, a common size might be a 330 mm wide, 110 mm thick piece to wrap a pole, or larger 250×190 mm sections for big pilings. They often have a curved back to snug against the pole and a thick front to take the boat impact.
  • Flat pad strips: like smaller flat pads (e.g., 800×90×45 mm or 800×90×70 mm) for lightweight protection or for narrower spaces (like on a narrow pontoon).
(As seen in our product range, we have examples like 730×175×140 mm, 900×250×190 mm, 800×90×45 mm, etc., in blue or white colors, to cover all use cases.)

Installation typically involves bolting them on. They often come with countersunk holes or you can drill through them. You’d use stainless steel bolts or lag screws appropriate for the dock material (wood, concrete) to secure them. For floating docks, sometimes they are strapped or through-bolted. Once installed, they should fit flush and not wiggle – making a stable buffer.

Use Cases:

  • Home Dock/Yacht Club: If you have a private dock or you manage a marina, installing these foam fenders means boats can come alongside without crew needing to deploy a dozen fenders each time. It simplifies docking and is especially useful for guest docks where you can’t ensure every boat has enough fenders out.
  • Fuel docks or service areas: Places where many boats dock briefly. Permanent EVA fenders ensure quick, safe contact as boats slide in and out frequently.
  • Piling protection: For boats that moor to pilings (like many sailboats in slips), wrapping the piles with foam fenders prevents the hull or rub rail from scraping the rough wood or concrete. It’s far superior to hanging a fender that might move – this gives full-time coverage on the pile itself.
  • Rough conditions: In tidal or high-wake areas, these fenders provide continuous protection even as boats move. An inflatable fender might ride up or get squeezed out; a fixed foam strip stays in place guarding the dock edge at all times.
  • Jet ski docks, low freeboard craft: There are thinner profiles ideal for very low docks or swim platforms to protect personal watercraft or small boats.

Aesthetic & Options: They typically come in nautical blue or neutral white. Blue tends to hide dirt and marks more, white matches many pontoons and looks clean (though may show dirt more). Many marinas choose blue for contrast and visibility. The fenders have a smooth finish and look professional – certainly a step up from makeshift solutions like hanging tires.

In summary, by installing these solid EVA marina fenders, you create a safe, boat-friendly docking environment. They work 24/7, require no adjustment, and give both boat owners and dock owners peace of mind that there will be no damage and no hull marks during mooring. It’s a one-time upgrade that significantly improves safety and convenience at the dock.
