The Osculati 200 cm aluminum gangway is designed as a lighter, more compact boarding solution for your boat. Made from anodized aluminum, this gangway resists corrosion and keeps weight to a minimum, making it easy to carry and install. Despite its smaller size, it delivers reliable performance and safety thanks to its special white non-slip walking surface. This surface consists of a panel or grating coated with a white anti-skid material, which not only stands out visually but also provides excellent grip underfoot – a big plus in wet conditions or rainy weather.
The gangway comes as a complete kit, including stainless steel stanchions (2 pieces) and a rope that form a handy handrail. At 200 cm in length (10 cm shorter than the standard 210 cm model), this gangway still offers stable access for boats with lower or moderate freeboard heights. Its narrower 33 cm width is an advantage for mounting on boats where space is limited at the stern or side – for example, narrow swim platforms or RIB inflatables – while still providing enough room for secure footing.
At the dock end of the gangway, you’ll find small wheels that allow it to roll smoothly along the ground or dock when being set up or taken down. This not only protects surfaces from scratches but also makes positioning the gangway much easier. The standard Ø25 mm swivel pin connects to a deck socket on the boat – this pin (and corresponding socket) let the gangway pivot and adjust as the boat moves relative to the dock. The package includes a nylon bushing for mounting on your boat, as well as the stainless steel pin itself, ensuring a secure attachment.
Usage Recommendations: This 200 cm gangway is particularly well-suited for smaller and mid-sized vessels (such as motorboats and yachts around 6–10 m in length) where a full-size gangway might be unnecessarily long or heavy. Its light weight and compact form are advantages if you need to frequently remove and stow the gangway, or if quick deployment is needed. Despite the shorter length, the rope handrail and sturdy construction provide confidence during boarding – even children or elderly guests can use it safely, holding onto the rail for support. If your boat has a higher freeboard or you often dock at taller quays, you might consider the longer 210 cm model for a gentler boarding angle. For a more luxurious finish with a classic look, a teak-decked version is also available (code 42.657.00).
