This foldable gangway made of marine-grade stainless steel (AISI 316) offers a blend of luxury appearance and robust performance, designed to make boarding sailboats and motor yachts safe and convenient. The frame is built from thick-walled round stainless tubing with precision-cast hinges and mounting head, ensuring stability and long-term durability in harsh marine environments. The walking surface is crafted from exotic iroko wood, prized for its resistance to moisture and UV exposure – it features a slatted grating design that prevents water pooling and provides excellent traction. The gangway folds in half via heavy-duty hinges, allowing you to easily stow it away when not in use. The metal has a mirror polish, not only lending a classy shine but also reflecting sunlight to keep the surface cooler for bare feet in summer.
Two length options are available – 1.6 m and 2.2 m, both approximately 28 cm in width. Choose the size that fits your vessel and usage needs:
- 1.6 m gangway – Suitable for smaller boats (around 13–20 ft length) or where installation space is limited. This shorter passerelle is lighter (~11 kg) and can be handled by one person with ease. It’s ideal for situations where docks are low or the gap to shore is small.
- 2.2 m gangway – Recommended for larger boats and yachts (around 20–30 ft) that require extra length to reach the dock. At 220 cm long and ~13.5 kg, this version provides a gentler boarding angle, helpful for higher piers or when moored slightly away from the quay. Despite the added length, the structure remains light enough for one person to deploy.
Both models share the same high-quality build and can support roughly 120–150 kg of weight, providing safe passage for even two people at once (depending on distribution). Installation is done via the included pivot pin, which secures the gangway to a deck socket or mounting bracket on your swim platform. If desired, you can add optional handrail stanchions with rope (available separately) for extra safety; these attach easily to the gangway. The lower end can be fitted with small rolling wheels to help the gangway slide on the dock without damage to the wood (if not included by default, wheel kits are available).
After use, the gangway folds neatly in two and can be stored in a locker or strapped to the rail using dedicated clips. Whether you captain a compact motorboat or a mid-sized sailing yacht, this stainless steel passerelle with iroko deck adds both convenience and style to every mooring and boarding experience.
