The Yamaha 68V-24563-00 fuel filter element is designed to keep fuel clean in Yamaha’s popular mid-range outboard engines. This filter element fits into the clear plastic fuel filter bowl under the engine cowling and traps micro particles of rust, dirt, or sediment that may be present in the gasoline. As a genuine Yamaha part, it ensures proper fuel flow and peace of mind that your engine will run smoothly. Many Mercury/Mariner 75-115 HP 4-stroke engines (especially early 2000s models co-developed with Yamaha) use this same filter – offering broad compatibility. Replacement is straightforward: unscrew the fuel bowl cap, remove the old element and drop in the new one, making sure the O-ring seal is correctly positioned. Changing this filter regularly (every 50-100 hours) prevents issues such as rough idle or loss of power due to fuel contamination.
