The Quicksilver 35-802893Q01 is the standard fuel/water separating filter Mercury recommends for most of its gasoline engines – from outboard motors to inboard/sterndrive power units. This filter is designed to strip water out of your fuel (a common issue in marine environments) and to screen out particles that could harm your engine. With Quicksilver’s OEM quality, it features a multi-layer filter media (polyester/glass fiber with silicon treatment) that provides reliable performance and protection for your fuel system. The canister is solid metal, built to withstand vibration and saltwater corrosion. It mounts on a standard filter head; replacement is straightforward – simply spin off the old filter and spin on the new one, lightly oiling the new gasket before installation. Replacing this filter regularly (at least once a year) prevents power loss and engine issues caused by water contamination or dirty fuel.
