This genuine Quicksilver fuel filter kit is engineered to fit Mercury/Mariner 2-stroke outboards from 6HP to 60HP (approximately mid-2005 models and newer) that use an under-cowl fuel filter assembly. It installs in the engine’s under-hood filter bowl (with the white bowl and black cap) and efficiently cleans the gasoline of water, sediment, and other particles before they reach your carburetor or injection system. By doing so, it prevents issues like rough running, loss of power, or fuel system damage caused by contaminated fuel. The kit comes with a new filter element (screen) and a high-quality Viton rubber seal, ensuring a tight fit and leak-free operation after service.
Using an OEM filter guarantees the compatibility and reliability that the manufacturer intended. It’s recommended to replace this filter regularly (for example, once a year or every ~100 hours) to keep your engine at peak performance and avoid fuel starvation at high rpm.
