The Honda BF6AH is the most powerful of Honda’s portable single-cylinder outboards, delivering 6 HP for boats up to around 3.6 m (12 ft) in length. This little friend has everything you could think of for servicing boats in this class – its biggest advantage is the built-in alternator (6A, 12V) with rectifier and charging terminals installed at the factory. In practice, this means even at low RPM the BF6AH can keep your battery topped up and power onboard electronics (such as a fishfinder, lights, etc.). The engine is an ideal choice for trolling on inland waters – extremely quiet, economical, and easy to maintain. Thanks to water cooling and Digital CDI ignition, it runs smoothly and reliably even during prolonged low-speed operation (a big plus for fishermen). The BF6AH is an easy hand-starter (a decompression mechanism ensures an effortless pull start) and is guided via a tiller handle. This compact 127 cc engine shares the same platform as the 4 and 5 HP models (weight ~27 kg, 3-blade aluminum propeller, forward-neutral-reverse gears), but here you get more power for heavier boats. Despite the increased output, it remains lightweight and portable, with the same convenient layout. The Honda BF6AH ensures that even with a small motor, you get uncompromising on-water performance – easy take-off, steady acceleration, and confidence backed by the world’s first outboard in its class to feature tiller-mounted throttle and integrated neutral gear control.
