The Honda BF10DK2 closely resembles the BF8 model in its features and design, but offers increased output – 10 HP – for those who need a bit more power for their boat. This engine is very well-suited for medium-sized aluminum and inflatable boats, as well as as a backup (kicker) engine for larger fishing vessels. The BF10 comes equipped with all the key functions of the BF8: a swivel bracket for easy tilting, an oil pressure sensor, a 222 cc OHC twin-cylinder powerhead, Programmed Ignition, and triple carburetors (one for each cylinder, ensuring optimum fuel mix). In addition, the BF10DK2 features an easy one-hand start system and enhanced high-RPM performance for better top-end speed. This model can be fitted with electric start and remote control (LRTU / SRTU versions), making it versatile for boats with console steering as well as tiller-steered setups. A distinguishing point of the BF10 is that it shares all the qualities and characteristics of its “twin” BF8, differing only in increased power. That means you get the same reliability, fuel efficiency, and smooth operation, but with an extra 2 HP that can make a difference when carrying heavier loads or needing higher speeds. The alternator on the BF10 is also available in 6A or 12A variants (with electric start), ensuring ample battery charging and accessory support. With a weight of about 42–44 kg (depending on configuration), this engine remains easy to mount and unmount.
