Honda’s BF15DK2 is part of Honda’s portable twin-cylinder lineup, providing significantly more thrust compared to the smaller 10HP models. The 350cc displacement and advanced OHC design allow the BF15 to accelerate a boat quickly and maintain steady speeds, even with a heavier load or 3–4 people on board.

Easy-start features – automatic decompression and electronic CDI ignition – are present here as well, ensuring the BF15 fires up quickly and reliably in all conditions. Unlike 2-stroke alternatives, this four-stroke motor produces no smoke, runs much quieter, and doesn’t require mixing oil into the gasoline – making its operation clean, economical, and convenient.

The BF15 comes equipped with the same 12-pole alternator as the BF10, but on electric-start variants the charging capacity reaches about 12A, which is enough to power more onboard devices. This means you can run lighting, navigation electronics, or other accessories without worrying about draining the battery. Even on the recoil-start model, there is ~6A of charging at low RPM to help maintain a battery.

The versatility of the BF15 makes it suitable for a wide range of boats: from 3.5–5 meter inflatables and small fiberglass boats to fishing dinghies and sailing yachts (as an auxiliary engine). It is available with short or long shaft to match your boat’s transom height; electric start and remote-control versions exist on certain models (e.g., BF15 LRU for console steering). The compact design and well-balanced carrying handle make installing and transporting this engine a breeze.
