This Marinco heavy-duty 63A inlet is a premium shore power entry point for large yachts and commercial marine vessels. Constructed entirely of polished AISI 316 stainless steel, it offers exceptional resistance to saltwater corrosion, impacts, and weathering. The inlet is a male 3-wire design (two-pole plus ground) – meaning it features male prongs on the boat’s side to which a female shore power connector attaches. Its heavy-duty engineering enables it to carry up to 63 amps at 230 volts, sufficient to support complex onboard electrical systems (for example, multiple air conditioners, electric ranges, water heaters, high-capacity battery chargers, etc.) running simultaneously.

The stainless steel lid and housing not only provide a sleek, professional appearance but also ensure watertight integrity when closed – with an IP56 rating, the inlet is protected from powerful water jets and sea spray. The contact pins are nickel-plated brass, giving them excellent conductivity and a long lifespan with minimal oxidation, even under repeated connect/disconnect cycles and continuous high load.

Features and applications:

  • Built for large yachts and commercial vessels: Designed to meet the demands of vessels with significant electrical consumption. It is recommended for yachts roughly 50 feet (15+ meters) in length or those with 230V electrical systems where standard 16A or 32A connectors are insufficient. This 63A inlet provides a substantial power overhead and stability, which is crucial for mega yachts, small ships, fishing or work boats equipped with many electrical appliances.
  • Professional-grade reliability: The Marinco Heavy-Duty series is known for components tested in extreme conditions. This inlet is suitable for daily, rigorous use – for example, charter yachts or commercial boats that regularly hook up to shore power. The 316 stainless construction shields the internal parts and eliminates the risk of corrosion-related failure, ensuring years of safe operation.
  • Integration with Marinco system: The inlet is part of a complete solution – it pairs seamlessly with the Marinco heavy-duty 63A female plug (product code 14.587.06). Together, these components form a secure and robust connection between the shore power cord and your vessel. It’s advisable to use an appropriately sized flexible cable (e.g., 3 x 16 mm² conductors) and high-quality connectors to fully leverage the capability of this inlet.
  • Installation and safety: The unit installs on a flat surface of the boat (typically in a standard-sized round cut-out) using screws. A rubber gasket is provided to seal the flange against the mounting surface, preventing water intrusion behind the panel. Safety tip: Keep the spring-loaded cap closed when the inlet is not in use to maintain a dry interior. When attaching the shore power cord, ensure any locking ring or collar on the female connector is properly secured to achieve a tight, waterproof seal.
