12V Livewell Aerator Pump (Europump Next Gen) – 51 L/min, 3 m Head, Check Valve

Code:
16.161.01

A modern aerator pump for live bait or fish tanks, delivering high performance with low power use. 12V pump moving 51 L/min with up to 3 m head, CE certified (ISO 8846/8849) for safe operation in gasoline environments. The design allows 360° rotation of the pump unit and ports for flexible installation, and the motor is easily removable for cleaning. An integrated non-return check valve prevents water from flowing back into the system, enhancing reliability.

  • 51 L/min flow, 3 m max head – provides strong water circulation in livewells and bait tanks
  • Low ~3.5A current draw (12V) – energy-efficient for all-day use, minimal battery impact
  • 360° adjustable body and hose ports – simplifies installation at any angle or orientation
  • Easy maintenance – motor detaches quickly for cleaning; stainless steel shaft for longevity in saltwater
  • Built-in check valve – prevents backflow or siphoning, keeping tank water level stable when pump is off

This “Next Generation” aerator pump is designed to keep live bait and catch alive in your livewell through continuous water circulation and aeration. With an impressive 51 L/min flow rate, it provides a strong stream of water sufficient for large bait tanks, and it can push water up to 3 m of head, allowing installation even at a distance from the tank itself (for example, on the deck or higher up on the boat).

Operating at 12V and drawing about 3.5A, the pump is very energy-efficient – crucial for long fishing trips where the pump may run continuously. The unit carries CE certification per ISO 8846 and 8849, meaning it’s ignition protected and safe for use in marine engine compartments (no spark risk) and has been tested for reliability in marine environments. This safety rating is important if the pump is installed near gasoline tanks or in enclosed spaces where fuel vapors might be present.

Innovations in the “Next Gen” design include a fully 360° rotatable pump body and inlet/outlet ports. This gives exceptional flexibility during installation – you can mount the pump vertically, horizontally, or at any needed angle and easily route the hoses without kinks. Additionally, the electric motor is modular: it can be quickly detached from the pump housing, allowing you to clean the impeller or remove debris that might get inside, all without special tools. The motor shaft is made of stainless steel, providing resistance to corrosion and wear even with continuous water contact (including saltwater use).

The integrated non-return check valve is a key feature that prevents water from siphoning backward through the pump when it’s off. This means your livewell water won’t drain out when the pump stops, keeping the water level stable and preventing air from entering the system. This helps ensure your bait fish remain covered with water and the pump primes quickly when restarted.

Usage and applications:

  • Perfect for aerating livewells and bait tanks on fishing boats – it delivers oxygen-rich water to keep bait (minnows, shrimp, etc.) or the live catch healthy and active until you’re ready to use or release them
  • Suitable for both freshwater and marine applications. Its rugged construction (ABS housing, stainless shaft) and ignition protection make it usable in powerboat bilges, lobster tanks, onboard aquariums, and more
  • 12V model – the standard choice for small and medium vessels. (For larger boats with 24V systems, a corresponding 24V version is available – Osculati code 16.161.02). Ensure you select the model matching your boat’s voltage
  • Install the pump as close to the livewell or bait tank as possible, or even directly through the wall of the tank (for in-line mounting). Thanks to its inline design, you can plumb it directly into the hose feeding the livewell, or mount it on a bulkhead with the intake inside the tank and the outlet through the hull
  • Regularly inspect the intake or any pre-filter screen for grass, sludge, or other debris, especially when pumping water from natural sources. Cleaning the pump (by removing the motor section) periodically will ensure maximum performance and extend its lifespan
  • When winterizing or storing the boat for long periods, drain water from the system and remove the pump if feasible to prevent freeze damage. Store it in a dry place until the next season
