Raymarine EV-200 Power Autopilot (Hydraulic System)

The Raymarine EV-200 Hydraulic (Power) autopilot pack is engineered for medium to large powerboats with hydraulic steering systems. It comes with a robust 12 V Type 1 hydraulic pump (for 80–230 cc hydraulic rams) that can drive the steering cylinders of bigger vessels – from large RIBs and cruisers to motor yachts in the roughly 8–12 m range. The pack also includes the EV-1 attitude sensor, ACU-200 actuator control unit, the p70Rs rotary control head, and all necessary cabling for installation.

The EV-200 Power autopilot is designed to provide precise steering under higher loads. The included ACU-200 can supply up to 15 A continuous current to the drive, allowing it to control larger rudders (e.g. a Type 1 drive on boats around 10 tons of displacement). As with all Evolution autopilots, no complicated calibration is needed – the system self-tunes and adapts automatically thanks to advanced Evolution AI algorithms. The EV-1 sensor monitors the vessel’s motion on all axes and continuously adjusts the helm to maintain an optimal course, even in rough seas or as the vessel’s loading changes.

Raymarine’s Hydro-Balance™ technology further refines the EV-200’s performance by automatically adjusting to the characteristics of your hydraulic steering – it compensates for any slack or compression in the system, so the autopilot avoids “hunting” (oscillating the rudder) and the boat stays on a straight track with minimal deviation. This improves comfort and reduces fuel consumption during long runs by eliminating unnecessary course corrections. The EV-200 Power can be controlled via the included p70Rs head or through a networked multifunction display (it’s SeaTalk^ng/NMEA2000 compatible), allowing seamless integration into your onboard electronics.

Recommendation: For best performance, ensure a rudder reference transducer is installed (a rotary rudder feedback sensor is included in the kit), as this greatly enhances steering accuracy on larger vessels.
