The Raymarine CP200 is a sonar module that significantly extends your underwater view by enabling side-scanning sonar with exceptional clarity. Utilizing advanced CHIRP SideVision™ technology, the CP200 allows anglers to peer far off to the sides of their boat – up to 183 m (600 ft) horizontally on each side – and obtain crystal-clear images of fish, bait, and bottom structure located to the port and starboard. It literally “expands your underwater horizon,” giving you insight into areas that a traditional downward-looking sonar cannot reach.
The CP200 is engineered with the same CHIRP foundation that made DownVision™ successful, but applied here to SideVision™ (side-looking). This means the sonar module transmits a wide spectrum of frequencies with each pulse and processes the returns at high resolution to produce a highly detailed “picture” of the underwater world to the sides of your boat. Thanks to this CHIRP signal processing, the CP200 lets you see farther and clearer than conventional side sonars – fish, bottom structures, and even the contours of the seabed all render sharply on your display.
Dual-channel side sonar with adjustable transducer: Included with the module is the dedicated CPT-200 transducer, designed specifically for SideVision. It contains two independent elements (left and right) for simultaneous scanning in both directions. The CPT-200 offers a unique adjustment capability – it has three preset angle positions (High, Medium, Low) that you can select based on water depth. For instance, the High-Angle setting is optimized for shallow water, giving a broader near-boat view to the sides, whereas the Low-Angle is meant for deeper water, focusing the beam to reach further at greater depths. By physically adjusting the tilt of the CPT-200 transducer (mounted on the transom), anglers can fine-tune their system for the conditions at hand.
Key Advantages: The CP200 works seamlessly alongside other Raymarine sonar modules. You can, for example, run it simultaneously with a CP100 DownVision or your display’s built-in digital/CHIRP sonar – the system supports combined views. This means on a split-screen you could watch the SideVision view (left/right sides) right next to a DownVision or traditional sonar view of what’s directly below – giving you a complete 180° underwater panorama around your boat. The CP200 is compatible with Raymarine a-Series, c-Series, e-Series, gS-Series multifunction displays (LightHouse II), as well as newer Axiom/Element displays (via network connection and appropriate software support).
For serious anglers who want to locate fish and structure not just under the boat, but all around it, the CP200 SideVision provides a tremendous advantage. With this module, you’ll be able to find schools of fish hugging a shoreline or sitting on an offshore ledge, spot channel beds or structures off to one side before you’re over them, and generally cover a much wider area in less time. The CP200’s clear imagery and long reach will make your fishing more efficient and exciting, by giving you detailed information on everything hiding in the “shadows” that a standard sonar would miss.
