The Raymarine CP470 is a high-performance CHIRP sonar module engineered for the most demanding anglers and offshore conditions. Supporting a broad range of frequencies (from 25 kHz to 255 kHz) across two independent CHIRP channels, the CP470 delivers best-in-class target separation and high-resolution imagery that far exceeds standard fishfinders. With a maximum output power of up to 2000W (2 kW) (when paired with an appropriate transducer), this module has the ability to penetrate to impressive depths – down to 3000 m (10,000 ft) – while maintaining clarity and precision in the echoes.

Designed for Serious Offshore Fishing: The CP470 uses wide-spectrum CHIRP technology, which transmits a sweep of frequencies with each “ping.” This gives the sonar the capability to “see” through dense bait schools or thermoclines and pick out individual game fish even when they’re hiding among bait. Thanks to its dual-channel transceiver, the CP470 can run, for example, a low-frequency channel (for deep range) and a medium or high-frequency channel (for more detailed mid/shallow range) simultaneously, providing you with comprehensive information from different layers of the water column. Thermoclines and other water column changes stand out clearly, helping you understand where fish might be holding.

Even in challenging conditions – heavy seas, aerated water, noise – the CP470 intelligently filters out unwanted interference, giving you reliable bottom tracking and stable target returns. This means you’ll keep a lock on the bottom (bottom track) even at speed or when passing over canyon structures and ledges where an ordinary sonar might drop out.

Stunning Detail and TruZoom: With 10 times the resolution of conventional sonars, the CP470 paints fish arches and structure with exceptional sharpness. Fine details – for instance, individual fish within a bait ball or subtle features of a wreck – are clearly delineated. The built-in TruZoom™ mode lets you magnify any portion of the sonar display without any loss of resolution, revealing extra detail on targets of interest. This is especially valuable when you want to scrutinize a suspicious structure or cluster of fish at great depth – the zoomed view remains as clear as the original image.

Flexibility and Easy Setup: The CP470 automatically recognizes the connected CHIRP transducer and adjusts its settings accordingly, simplifying installation and setup. You have the freedom to choose from various transducer options – low, medium, or high CHIRP frequency ranges, as well as wide-beam versions – to tailor the system to your fishing preferences. For example, wide-beam transducers cover a larger volume of water (useful for finding schools), while standard conical transducers maximize depth penetration. The CP470 allows you to independently control each CHIRP channel and configure your display with different combinations – side-by-side views of both channels, full-screen focus on one channel, or combinations with chart, radar, etc., as needed.

Built to meet the needs of the offshore skipper and avid angler, the Raymarine CP470 gives you the confidence that you’re using top-tier technology to find your targets, whether they’re lurking 20 m below the boat or 2000 m down in the abyss. With this sonar module, you’ll see more, identify targets more accurately, and ultimately enjoy more successful fishing trips – even in the most challenging waters.
