The T163-868 Wireless Speed/Depth Pack is tailored for powerboats, featuring the same core components as the T103 kit – a T111 solar dual display, T121 hull transmitter, and a T915 transom-mount sensor – but optimized for stern mounting on motor vessels. Instead of a thru-hull triducer, the T915 transducer in this package is designed to attach on the transom, allowing installation on the back of the boat without drilling a hole below the waterline. This makes setup particularly convenient for boats with an accessible transom or those kept on trailers. The T915 sensor accurately measures your speed through water (with its paddlewheel) and depth below the hull (with a built-in depth sounder), and relays these readings (along with water temperature) wirelessly to the hull transmitter. From there, data is sent to the T111 dual digital display, which clearly shows speed and depth simultaneously on its easy-to-read LCD screen. Like all Micronet displays, the T111 is solar-powered and self-charging, so it’s always ready to deliver information, drawing on its battery reserve for up to 300 hours of operation.

As a fully wireless instrument system, the T163-868 offers hassle-free installation and flexibility. No physical connection is required between the transducer and the cockpit display, which means no lengthy cable runs or holes in your boat’s transom or deck. This is a significant advantage for powerboat owners who may not have the time or desire to perform major installation work. The transom-mount design of the T915 is ideal for many planing powerboats and trailerable vessels – the sensor can be mounted externally on the stern, often using just a few screws into the transom, keeping the hull intact. The wireless transmitter T121 needs only a 12V supply from the boat’s electrical system and can be tucked away in a dry spot near the stern. Once powered, it automatically networks with the display, which you can place at the helm or any convenient viewing location. The instrument operates on the 868 MHz frequency band used in Europe for reliable, interference-free data communication.

Use Cases: The T163-868 is particularly well-suited for fishing boats, center consoles, RIBs, and small motor yachts where a through-hull transducer might be impractical or undesirable. For example, if you own a high-speed bass boat or a sport fishing vessel that frequently navigates shallow waters, this wireless pack will give you real-time depth info to avoid running aground and accurate speed for trolling – all without drilling into your hull. It’s also beneficial for rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) and tenders, since the transducer can be mounted on the transom bracket and you don’t have to route cables through inflatable sections. Installation is quick: even non-experts can mount the transom sensor, connect the transmitter to power, and link the display in an afternoon. There’s no need to haul the boat out for long periods or cut into fiberglass, and the system can be easily removed or transferred if needed (for instance, during off-season storage or if you upgrade vessels). With the Raymarine T163-868, powerboat enthusiasts get the same trusted performance of Raymarine’s wireless instruments – accurate speed and depth readings – in a package designed for their needs. The system comes with a two-year warranty (extendable to three years with product registration), underscoring its reliability and giving you confidence in your investment. And if you ever wish to expand your setup, the Micronet platform makes it simple to add extra wireless displays (for a second station or flybridge) or even integrate wind data by adding a wireless wind vane. This adaptability makes the T163-868 a smart, future-ready choice for modern powerboat instrumentation.
