The Raymarine CAM210 (E70346) is a fixed-mount day/night IP camera that adds an extra layer of security and awareness to your boat in full high-definition. Housed in a compact, rugged aluminum casing with a built-in sunshade, the CAM210 is designed to withstand the marine environment – from bright sun to salt spray. Its durable build makes it suitable for both outdoor installation (exposed on deck, arch, or mast) and indoor locations (engine room, companionway, salon) where you need reliable eyes on critical areas.

Equipped with a Full HD sensor, this camera delivers sharp video above 1920×1080 resolution. During daylight hours, you’ll get clear, color footage of whatever the camera is pointed at – be it the cockpit, swim platform, or anchor locker. Come nightfall, the CAM210 automatically transitions to night mode, turning the picture to black-and-white and using its array of infrared LEDs to illuminate the scene up to about 20 meters (66 feet) away. This true day/night capability (thanks to a mechanical IR-cut filter that disengages at night) ensures you maintain visibility around the clock. In complete darkness, the powerful IR illuminators will bathe the area in infrared light, invisible to the naked eye but crystal clear to the camera, allowing you to see people or obstacles on your multi-function display as if you had a spotlight – except it’s all automatic and stealthy. Importantly, the CAM210 uses smart IR technology: it adjusts the infrared intensity to avoid washing out close objects and to balance the exposure. If someone walks right up to the camera at night, you’ll still see their face clearly rather than it just being a white glare, and you’ll also see background details.

To further enhance image quality, the CAM210 features a Digital Defog function – basically an image processing algorithm that improves visibility in challenging conditions like fog, haze, rain, or smoke. When turned on, it can help cut through the murkiness, giving you a cleaner, more contrasted image. This is particularly helpful on those foggy mornings or if the camera is looking at an area that might steam up or fill with exhaust smoke – the camera’s feed remains more usable when others might just show a white-out blur.

Optically, the CAM210 has a fixed lens that provides approximately a 63.6° diagonal field of view (about 53° horizontal). This is a good medium-wide angle, meaning it can cover a decent area with one camera. For example, one CAM210 mounted on the hardtop can monitor an entire cockpit. Or placed high on the aft cabin of a cruiser, it could watch over the swim step and part of the aft deck for safety. If installed facing forward (perhaps on a powerboat’s bow or radar arch), it can serve as a low-light nav camera, helping the helmsman see logs or debris floating in the water at night when paired with a large screen display. Many skippers also like to use cameras as backup cams – mount the CAM210 on the stern, and when docking, you can split your MFD screen to have a live video feed of your transom, essentially like a car’s reverse camera but for your boat.

Integration is straightforward: the CAM210 outputs standard IP video (RTSP stream, compatible with ONVIF) and can plug into a network switch on the boat. Raymarine’s LightHouse OS on Axiom displays will autodetect it, so you can bring up the camera feed with a few taps. You can even set a shortcut to quickly toggle the camera – useful when, say, you hear a bump in the night and want to instantly check all around the boat. It supports 12V DC power and draws relatively low current. If you have a compatible NVR or want to record, you can integrate it with that too, thanks to ONVIF compatibility. In terms of image adjustments, beyond Defog, the camera likely has configurable settings for things like brightness, contrast, etc., accessible through the interface if needed.

Use Cases: The CAM210 is an all-around workhorse for onboard video monitoring. It’s particularly great as an engine room camera – mount it facing the machinery, and you can periodically scan that everything is normal (no leaks, belts intact, etc.) from your helm display without physically going below. It’s also superb as a companionway or deck camera, giving you a view of who’s coming on board or what’s happening on deck while you’re at the nav station or inside. For larger yachts, multiple CAM210s can create a full CCTV system, covering side decks, the anchor windlass (so you can watch the anchor set/haul without leaving the helm), or the salon for security. At night, if you hear a strange sound, the infrared capability means you can pan through all your camera feeds and see what’s happening even in total darkness – maybe a line has come loose, or an uninvited guest, human or animal, is on deck. Commercial vessels (tugs, workboats) often use cameras like this to monitor winches or cargo areas; the CAM210 fits that bill with its hardy build. And because it outputs to your existing displays, there’s no need for separate monitors – you can integrate the view right into your navigation screens. In summary, the Raymarine CAM210 is like having an extra set of eyes in any spot on your boat that you care to monitor. It’s clear in daylight, capable in darkness, and tough enough to keep doing its job in the demanding marine environment. Whether you’re docking single-handed and want a better view aft, or sailing through the night and want to check on deck without leaving the helm, this camera has you covered.
