The A80013 TM265 LH is a high-performance 1 kW CHIRP transducer for transom mounting, designed for serious offshore and deep-water fishing. “LH” denotes its dual-band range – Low CHIRP frequency for extreme depth and broad coverage, and High CHIRP frequency for detailed scanning in shallower waters. In the low band (42–65 kHz), this transducer can reach an impressive depth of up to 3000 feet (~914 m) under favorable conditions, covering the demands of deep ocean fishing (e.g. targeting swordfish, halibut, or other bottom dwellers at great depths). The high band (130–210 kHz) provides finer resolution for fish and structure in mid-range depths, up to roughly 1000 feet (~305 m), ideal for pelagic species and continental shelf waters.

With a power rating of 1000 W (1 kW RMS), the TM265 LH delivers an exceptionally strong signal capable of penetrating deep into the water column and yielding clear echoes from the bottom and targets at extreme depths. Its eight internal ceramic elements (as noted by the manufacturer) work in unison to output a wide CHIRP frequency spectrum and improved target separation in both shallow and deep water. The beam width on low frequency ranges from about 25° to 16° (depending on the specific frequency within the CHIRP sweep) – this wider beam covers a large volume of water, ideal for searching for bait schools and broad underwater features. On high frequency, the beam is narrower (around 10°–6°), concentrating energy for more detailed imaging of targets and structure when fishing in shallower depths. Together, these two modes allow the angler to scan vast areas quickly, then hone in on areas of interest with high resolution.

Construction & Compatibility: The TM265 LH features a rugged urethane housing, saltwater-proof and impact-resistant, engineered for transom mounting on medium to large vessels. This transducer is larger and heavier than consumer-grade units, so it is typically installed on sturdy transom surfaces or using specialized brackets. The 10 m (33 ft) cable provides ample length to route through the transom and hull interior of larger boats. The cable terminates in an 11-pin connector compatible with Raymarine’s professional CHIRP sonar modules. Specifically, the TM265LH is designed to work directly with CP470 and CP570 CHIRP sonar modules, which serve as high-performance “black box” sonar processors connected to Raymarine multifunction displays (Axiom, Axiom Pro, etc.). This transducer is also fully compatible with the earlier CP450C sonar module (the predecessor to CP470) via the same 11-pin plug.

Recommended Use: The TM265 LH transducer is intended for serious offshore fishing expeditions and commercial fishing operations. It is recommended for larger motorboats and sportfishing yachts (8 meters and above) that venture far offshore – for example, sportfisherman vessels, charter fishing boats, and deep-drop trolling boats. On these vessels, a transom-mounted 1kW transducer is appropriate if a through-hull transducer isn’t feasible or if the owner prefers the easier installation on the transom. The TM265LH covers the full range of fishing scenarios: Low CHIRP for searching fish holding near the bottom in very deep water (e.g. grouper, tilefish on seamounts), and High CHIRP for pelagic species (tuna, mahi, marlin) and mid-depth reefs along the shelf edge. The wide beam of the low frequency helps quickly locate steep drop-offs and bait congregations, while the narrow high-frequency beam is perfect for tracking individual targets or fishing near structure (for instance, around underwater pinnacles or wrecks). It’s important to note that to utilize this transducer’s full capabilities, your boat’s system must include the aforementioned CHIRP module (CP470/570) and a compatible display with up-to-date software (LightHouse version 16 or later). Backed by a 2-year warranty and the proven reliability of Airmar/Raymarine’s transducer technology, the TM265LH offers peace of mind and top-tier sonar performance even in punishing offshore conditions.
