The A80464 RV-100 is a next-generation multi-function transom transducer that offers four sonar modes in one unit. This all-in-one “4-in-1” sensor combines:
- CHIRP DownVision™ – a fore-and-aft sweeping high-frequency beam for detailed 2D imagery of the bottom (like a photograph);
- CHIRP SideVision™ – side-scanning beams to the port and starboard, covering a wide swath of water for finding structure and fish off to the sides;
- High-frequency CHIRP sonar (conical beam) – a traditional fish-finding sonar channel for tracking fish targets and depth directly beneath the boat;
- RealVision™ 3D – a true three-dimensional sonar view that fuses data from the above channels to render a real-time 3D model of the underwater terrain and targets around your boat.
With the RV-100, you essentially gain a complete understanding of what’s under and around your vessel. DownVision and SideVision operate on HyperVision-range frequencies (~350–500 kHz), delivering extremely fine detail at short to medium ranges – perfect for surveying shallows, reefs, and structures. The 3D mode synthesizes those inputs plus the CHIRP sonar data to create an intuitive three-dimensional visualization of the underwater world. Maximum depths vary by mode: approximately 300 ft (91 m) for 3D and SideVision, up to ~600 ft (183 m) for DownVision and CHIRP sonar (using lower frequencies). The built-in temperature sensor allows your system to display water temperature, which can be overlaid on sonar data or used to identify thermoclines – important for locating certain fish species.
Construction & Compatibility: The RV-100 features a durable plastic (polymer) housing designed for transom mounting. The package includes the necessary bracket and hardware to mount securely on the transom. The 8-meter cable provides generous length for installation on a variety of boat types – from 18–20 ft bass boats to larger cabin boats. This transducer is specifically engineered for the Raymarine Axiom series – it plugs directly into Axiom RV displays (e.g. Axiom 7/9/12 RV) or into Axiom Pro RVX and Axiom 2 Pro RVX models, which have built-in RealVision sonar capabilities. If you’re using the dedicated sonar module RVX1000, the RV-100 connects to it to provide full 3D/HyperVision functionality to compatible displays. (Note: Element HV series displays use different HV transducers, so the RV-100 is intended primarily for the Axiom platform.) The transducer is waterproof and robust, made to withstand continuous saltwater use and high-speed operation without kicking up or losing bottom lock when properly installed.
Recommended Use: The Raymarine RV-100 is perfect for avid and professional anglers who want the most comprehensive view of the underwater environment. It is especially beneficial for coastal saltwater fishing and large-lake freshwater fishing, where detailed mapping of underwater structure (sunken timber, ledges, wrecks, reefs) greatly increases the chances of finding fish. This transducer enables the captain to “see” not only what’s directly below the boat, but also around it – for example, you might spot a bait ball 20 m off to the right with SideVision, or realize fish are suspended over a submerged rockpile using the 3D view. RealVision 3D is a powerful tool for scouting new fishing spots – a single pass over an area can generate a 3D model of the bottom contours and potential fish holding spots. The RV-100 is recommended for boats up to medium size (roughly 5–9 m / 18–30 ft), and it delivers optimal performance at speeds up to about 20 knots for the 3D/Side/Down modes (at higher speeds, the traditional CHIRP channel continues providing depth data). With Raymarine’s 2-year warranty and seamless integration into the Axiom ecosystem, the RV-100 is an investment that significantly expands the capabilities of your marine electronics, giving you an unparalleled view beneath your boat.
