E26031 ST800/P120 Speed/Temperature Transducer
The E26031 ST800/P120 is a reliable thru-hull log transducer designed to measure a vessel’s speed through the water, as well as the water temperature. Its low-profile design allows it to mount flush with the hull, minimizing drag and the chance of damage from floating debris. This model features a plastic urethane housing, ensuring compatibility with various hull materials and eliminating galvanic corrosion concerns.
- Accurate speed measurement: The ST800/P120 has a small rotary paddlewheel (impeller) that spins as the boat moves through the water. The rotation is converted into electrical pulses, providing a highly accurate readout of the boat’s speed relative to the water. This information is especially valuable for fine-tuning navigation, as it shows true through-water speed (which can differ from GPS speed in currents).
- Water temperature sensor: The built-in temperature element provides continuous readings of the sea water’s temperature. These data can be used for fishing (identifying temperature breaks), as well as monitoring environmental conditions or enhancing comfort for diving and swimming activities.
- Easy maintenance and cleaning: The design allows removal of the log sensor from inside the boat thanks to a housing with a self-closing valve (a feature of certain thru-hull log installations). This means you can quickly clean the paddlewheel of fouling like algae or barnacles without hauling the boat. The low-profile housing rarely snags ropes or marine debris, contributing to trouble-free operation.
- Universal compatibility: The E26031 comes with a 14 m (45 ft) cable that connects directly to a variety of Raymarine displays: for instance, the ST40 and i40 (Speed/Tridata units), ST60+ and i50 (Speed/Tridata). Via an interface module (iTC-5), it can also be integrated into a modern SeaTalkNG network, allowing speed and temp data to be shown on an i70 multifunction display or other compatible instruments.
