The Raymarine P66 is a combined “Triducer” sensor offering three functions in one unit: depth sounder, water speed log, and temperature sensor. It mounts on the transom (stern) of the boat, making it an ideal choice for outboard or sterndrive-powered vessels that want to easily add depth and speed instrumentation to their setup.
The P66 features a hydrodynamic housing with a smooth, rounded shape that reduces turbulence and ensures clean water flow over the sensor. This design provides reliable depth and speed readings even when the boat is moving at high speed, as it minimizes air bubble entrainment and other signal disturbances around the transducer.
The paddlewheel speed sensor is recessed in a protective channel, shielding it from floating debris or impacts with objects in the water. Additionally, the plastic mounting bracket includes a built-in safety mechanism – upon a strong impact, the bracket will release the transducer to prevent the housing from cracking or breaking off.
Maintenance of the P66 is convenient – the transducer can be detached from its bracket quickly without any tools. This makes it easy to clean marine growth off the paddlewheel or remove the unit when the boat is hauled out for the season. After cleaning, the sensor snaps back into the bracket securely in seconds.
The P66 transducer is equipped with standardized flat spade terminals for connection, which makes integration with Raymarine’s instrument systems straightforward. It is fully compatible with Raymarine i40 Bidata (depth/speed) and i50 Tridata displays, can interface with the iTC-5 converter for SeaTalkNG network integration, and also fits older analog instrument setups (e.g., ST40/ST60) that accept analog depth, speed, and temperature signals.
