- The P319 is a low-profile plastic thru-hull depth transducer designed to have minimal impact on a vessel’s hydrodynamics. With its mushroom-shaped head sitting almost flush with the hull, this sensor reduces drag and the likelihood of snagging when trailering or docking the boat.
- The unit operates on two frequencies – 50 kHz and 200 kHz – with 600 W of power. At 200 kHz, the P319 emits a narrow beam (~12°) and provides detailed depth readings in shallow to medium depths. At 50 kHz, the beam is wider (~45°), enabling a significantly greater range (up to approximately 250-300 m, depending on conditions), albeit with lower image resolution compared to the high frequency.
- The required hull hole for installation is 51 mm (2″) – a standard size for this type of sensor. The P319 mounts securely with a hull nut from the inside, forming a watertight seal. Because of its plastic housing, this model is recommended for fiberglass or metal (aluminum/steel) hulls. For wooden hulls, the manufacturer offers a bronze equivalent (such as the Airmar B117) which better accommodates the expansion of wood.
- This transducer is dedicated solely to depth measurement (it has no built-in temperature or speed sensors). Thanks to its flush-mounted design, the P319 is an excellent choice for high-speed powerboats and sailboats where minimal drag and smooth water flow over the sensor contribute to more accurate readings while underway.
- The Raymarine P319 (Part # E66013) comes with an 8-pin cable (~9 m length) for direct connection to Raymarine’s digital sonar modules: it is compatible with older DSM30/DSM300 units as well as the newer CP300 and CP370 modules. Integration is seamless, providing reliable depth data to fishfinders and multifunction displays.
