This folding skipper seat is designed to provide comfort for the helm and passengers, combining modern styling with the durability required in a marine environment.

Construction: The seat’s shell (bottom and backrest) is made from high-strength injection-molded plastic that won’t degrade from sun or salt – meaning no cracking or chalking even after seasons of use. Attached to this shell are thick cushions – one on the seat pan and one on the backrest. The cushions are filled with dense polyurethane foam wrapped in marine-grade vinyl upholstery with a two-tone scheme (blue and white) that gives a classy, yacht-like appearance. The vinyl covering is UV-resistant and stain-resistant, so it will retain its color and is easy to clean – just wipe it down with a damp cloth after a fishing trip or day on the water.

Ergonomics: The shape of the seat and backrest are contoured to support the body – with slight side bolsters and curvature to help hold you in place when the boat rocks. The backrest is high enough to provide support to your upper back during long periods at the helm.

Functionality: The seat folds easily – simply tilt the backrest forward. In the folded position you can free up extra space on deck for movement, or protect the cushions when not in use. A built-in mechanism (hinge lock or strap) keeps the backrest secured in the upright position when in use, preventing it from folding down unintentionally.

Mounting: The bottom of the seat has integrated standard mounting inserts/holes (for example, 5" x 5" and 5" x 12" patterns – in line with industry standards). This makes attaching it to a swivel plate or pedestal very straightforward – just align the holes, use appropriate stainless steel bolts and nuts (not included), and tighten. The seat can be mounted on a fixed base or a swivel for 360° rotation.

Application: Suitable for powerboats, fishing vessels, yachts, and other craft – as a captain’s or navigator’s chair, as well as additional folding seating for passengers.
