The PROTEUS Immersion Suit is a professional-grade survival suit designed for maritime emergencies. Made of reinforced 5 mm neoprene with sealed seams, it is fully waterproof and thermally insulated, allowing a person to survive in cold water and preventing hypothermia and cold shock. The suit is MED 2014/90/EU and SOLAS certified, meaning it meets stringent standards for insulation and buoyancy. It is equipped with a waterproof hood and a high-visibility face seal, neoprene gloves, and retro-reflective tape to aid detection. The waterproof zipper runs diagonally for easy donning, and an internal harness or lifting strap is included for rescue operations (if required by SOLAS). PROTEUS suits are designed to be worn over regular clothing and do not require a lifejacket, as they have inherent buoyancy to turn the wearer face-up. Users can don the suit quickly, and it does not restrict movement, enabling tasks to be performed while waiting for rescue. This suit comes in multiple sizes (Universal Adult and XL) to ensure a proper fit for different crew members. Five-Marine’s PROTEUS immersion suit is ideal for commercial vessels, offshore platforms, and fishing boats, providing critical protection in man-overboard situations or abandon-ship scenarios.
