Marine Battery Isolator Switch 200A with Removable Key and Cover

Code:
51628

A heavy-duty master battery disconnect switch designed to cut off your boat’s power supply for safety or storage. It features a removable red key that prevents unauthorized engine starts and acts as an anti-theft measure. A protective cover is included to seal the switch opening when the key is removed, keeping moisture and dirt out. Rated for up to 200A continuous (300A peak), this battery switch is ideal for medium to large vessels.

  • Rated current: 200A continuous (up to 300A briefly) – handles engine starter loads with ease
  • Bright red removable key – clearly indicates when the circuit is off; can be taken out to prevent accidental or unauthorized reconnection
  • Durable plastic housing (impact and corrosion-resistant) with internal copper contacts for minimal voltage drop
  • Protective rubber cover to shield the keyhole when the key is removed – prevents water, dust ingress and corrosion of the mechanism
  • Easy installation – compact size for dash or battery box mounting; standard M10 terminals accommodate heavy-gauge battery cables

This master battery switch (battery isolator) is a must-have safety feature for any boat. It allows you to completely cut off battery power to your electrical system – for example, when leaving the boat unattended, performing maintenance, or in an emergency. The model is built for high current: its 200A rating makes it suitable for disconnecting starter battery circuits on gasoline or diesel engines, and its 300A peak capacity ensures that brief surges during engine start won’t damage it.

The red key has an ergonomic T-shape that makes it easy to turn to the ON or OFF positions. When the key is in the “OFF” position, you can pull it up and remove it entirely. In this state, power is disconnected, and even if someone tries to start the engine or turn on electronics, nothing will happen – an effective deterrent against theft or accidents. With the key removed, you can place the included cover over the opening – it plugs the hole snugly and prevents water or debris from entering, keeping the mechanism dry and operating smoothly.

The switch’s housing is made of reinforced engineering plastic that withstands exposure to seawater and UV rays. The internal contacts are made from a highly conductive material (copper alloy) with a protective plating, so they won’t rust and will provide reliable connectivity every time. Installation can be on the dashboard near the helm or directly on a battery box – whichever you prefer. Its compact footprint means it doesn’t take up much space; it has two mounting holes for screws, and the electrical connection is made via two heavy-duty studs to which the main positive cables are clamped (from the battery to the main electrical bus).

Usage tips: when disconnecting the battery with the isolator, ensure the engine and all electrical loads are turned off first (to avoid any potential voltage spikes). Store the red key in a secure place – for example, keep it on the same ring as your boat ignition keys – to prevent it from getting lost. Spare replacement keys are available from the manufacturer if needed.
