Single Mounting Panel

Code:
SF-BS3

Standalone module for mounting a single rocker switch on a dashboard. Combines end caps and holder in one, providing secure support and a neat frame for an individual switch:

  • Allows installation of one standard rocker switch by itself, not adjacent to other switches
  • Built-in end caps – no additional modules needed, frame encloses the opening on all sides
  • Wide bezel covers the cutout – gives a finished, factory look to the single switch installation
  • Secure snap-in fit – switch sits firmly with no wiggle when pressed
  • Perfect for adding a lone accessory switch (e.g., light, pump, device) to an existing dash without it looking aftermarket or out of place

The SF-BS3 is a single-module frame designed to mount one individual rocker switch on a panel. This “all-in-one” panel incorporates both the switch holder and the necessary side edges for a finished look. In other words, if you have space for only one rocker switch or just need to add a separate switch away from others, SF-BS3 lets you do it neatly and securely, without any open edges left showing.

2-in-1 Design: The single panel combines the functions of an end module and a middle module. Its opening is exactly the size of a standard rocker switch, and on the left and right sides of that opening are molded “ends” that close off the frame. When installing, you don’t need separate SF-BS1 pieces because the SF-BS3 already has closed sides. This simplifies things – you cut a rectangular hole in the dash that matches the frame’s size, and insert the SF-BS3 with the switch.

Mounting a Single Switch: The frame securely snaps around your rocker switch. First, you insert the switch into the SF-BS3 frame from the front – the clips hold the switch firmly in place (the same type of clips that would hold it in a regular panel cutout). Then you mount the entire unit (frame with the switch already in it) into the opening in the dashboard. It is tightened from the backside of the panel using a retention mechanism (depending on the design – some models use flexible wings or a separate U-bracket to clamp it). The result is that the switch is surrounded by an even bezel and looks integrated, rather than just “stuck in a hole.”

When to use SF-BS3:

  • When you have only one electrical component to control – for example, a standalone deck light, horn, bilge pump, etc., and you want to add a switch for it in a location where there are no other switches.
  • When expanding a system: say your dash has an open spot and you want to put a switch for an additional spotlight or accessory there. With the single frame, you can install it cleanly with no gaps.
  • During retrofit or reconfiguration: if you previously had a multi-switch panel but decide to relocate one function elsewhere – SF-BS3 allows you to mount that switch by itself and still have it look good.

Aesthetics & Match: SF-BS3 is made of the same material and color as the other BS modules, so it matches nicely if your other switches are on a modular panel. Even if there are no other modules nearby, the black (or dark) matte plastic bezel is similar to the frames of many instruments and controllers, so it won’t look out of place. The frame’s wide flange overlaps about 0.2″ of the hole around the switch, which hides any imperfections in the cut and protects the edges.

Sturdiness: Because the frame is one solid piece, it holds the switch very securely. When you press the switch, it won’t shift or stress the dashboard directly – the force is absorbed by the frame and distributed. This prevents the dash from cracking around the switch, especially if the dash material is thinner. SF-BS3 provides a professional-grade mounting and extends the life of both the switch and the panel.

In summary, SF-BS3 gives you an easy and elegant way to mount a single rocker switch. Instead of having a “lonely” switch with visible cut edges, you get a nicely framed mini-panel that looks like it was part of the original dash design. It’s the perfect solution for adding a new function or eliminating an empty hole where a switch used to be – just install SF-BS3 with your new switch and your dashboard is whole again.
