This swiveling LED light fixture is designed for tasks that require a directed, gentle light in dark conditions. With its 180° adjustable body, you can manually rotate the lamp left or right to illuminate a specific object or area. For example, when mounted above a chart table, you can aim the lamp directly at the map without spilling light throughout the cabin. If installed near a bunk, it can be tilted to act as a reading lamp focused on your book.
The lamp uses 4 Flux LED chips – a type of LED known for reliability and even light output. The total power consumption is extremely low (only 0.6 W), which makes it suitable to leave on for extended periods, such as an orientation light running all night. Its output of ~8 lumens is intentionally subtle: this light is not meant for general room lighting but for spot illumination, so it won’t ruin your night vision or disturb others. The color temperature is around 3000K (warm white), providing a cozy glow that is easy on the eyes in darkness.
The unit is designed to operate on both 12V and 24V, covering most use cases – from small boats to large yachts, and from RVs to trucks. The plastic housing is lightweight and durable; it typically comes in a white or light grey finish to blend with common interiors. Installation is surface-mount – the base secures with two small screws (included). With dimensions of 174 mm length and only ~30 mm in width/depth, the lamp fits easily under cabinets, above bunks, or next to control panels.
It is especially useful as a night light in a cabin or companionway – you can leave it on and angle it toward the floor, so you see where you step without waking others with bright light. In a wheelhouse or truck cab, it serves as a chart/map light that the driver or skipper can use without illuminating the whole area. Additionally, in emergency situations, its faint light can mark an exit or instrument in the dark without drawing much power.
Examples of Use:
- Chart Table Light: Mount the swivel lamp above your navigation chart table. During night passages, use it (potentially with a red film over the lens for night vision) – 8 lumens is sufficient to read charts, and the swivel feature lets you concentrate the light exactly on the chart.
- Cabin Night Light: Install the lamp on a wall near the floor in a corridor or cabin. At night, pivot it toward the floor – it will illuminate the walkway so you can move safely without flooding the entire room with light.
- Bunk Reading Lamp: Fix the lamp by the head of a bunk and aim the beam at your pillow/book. The soft light will allow one person to read without disturbing a sleeping companion in the same space.
- Instrument Panel / Fuse Box: In the engine room or near the electrical panel, you could mount this lamp aimed at the fuses or gauges. If you need to check something in the dark, just switch it on – the light is dim but enough to see labels and statuses without blinding you.
