This red 112.5° port-side navigation light is designed to mark the port side of small to medium vessels up to 12 m in length. The white housing of the unit is made of impact-resistant plastic, capable of enduring prolonged sun exposure (without aging) and physical stress. Inside the housing, an integrated reflector, together with the clear red lens, focuses the light from the halogen bulb exactly into the desired sector. The build quality ensures a high degree of waterproofing – all joints and seals are engineered to keep out water, dust, and salt fog. This is especially important for side lights, which are often installed in positions exposed to direct wave splashes and rain.

The included halogen bulb is 12V/5W, specifically chosen for this model, providing a high intensity output while maintaining low energy consumption. It produces a bright red light sufficient to be seen from at least 1 NM away – fulfilling the COLREG72 requirements for sidelights on vessels up to 12 m. Thanks to the low consumption, the light can remain on for extended periods without significantly draining your boat’s battery – an important factor for longer night passages or overnight fishing trips.

Installation is identical to that of the green light in the same series: the lamp is mounted vertically on the hull or any flat vertical surface using two screws. Its small size means you can place it even on narrow sections of the bow area. Position it on the port side of the boat, typically symmetric to the starboard light’s location (if using the corresponding green light). The package includes the necessary screws and wires for connection to the electrical system. The wiring itself is simple – two leads to your 12 V supply, with no complex setup. At initial install you won’t need an extra bulb, as the factory one is already in place. In the future, replacing it (or switching to an LED equivalent) can be done quickly by just opening the front part of the housing.
