112.5° Port Red Navigation Light, White Housing, Vertical Mount

This port-side navigation light (red, 112.5°) provides a clear marker for the left side of boats up to 12 meters in length. As part of the Osculati Utility77 navigation light range, it shares the same advantages as the corresponding green starboard light – durability, 100% waterproof construction, and easy installation. The white housing is made of high-grade polycarbonate with UV protection and features an internal “orange-peel” textured reflector. This design enhances the light output, ensuring the red beam is sharp and distinct, alerting nearby vessels to your boat’s presence and orientation.

The unit is fully waterproof and built to withstand harsh marine conditions – rain, spray, and waves won’t impede its operation. It’s certified by RINA and compliant with COLREG72 standards for vessels up to 12 m. In practice, this means the red light covers a 112.5° arc and is powerful enough to be seen at a minimum of 1 nautical mile, fulfilling the legal requirements for a port-side light on small craft. With this light installed, your boat adheres to international collision prevention regulations, providing other mariners with the vital information of which side they are viewing.

Installation is both simple and secure. The vertical mount format allows the light to be firmly attached to a vertical surface – such as the port bow or cabin side – using just two screws. The package includes the necessary screws and fixtures, along with a pre-installed 12V/10W halogen bulb in the socket. After mounting the fixture, you only need to connect its wires to your vessel’s 12V power system. As with other lights in the series, you have the option to swap the halogen bulb for an equivalent LED bulb in the future to reduce power consumption (while maintaining required brightness).

By adding this red port light, you greatly enhance your visibility and safety at night. The red signal clearly delineates your vessel’s port side, helping approaching boats judge right-of-way and maneuver correctly according to the rules. Recommended use: install the red light on the port side at the bow area or on the superstructure of your boat (sailboats typically mount it on the rail or pulpit, motorboats on the cabin or gunwale). Use it in conjunction with the green starboard light, a white 135° stern light, and when applicable a white 225° masthead light, to ensure a complete set of navigation lamps.
