The white birch wooden oars bring classic charm and reliability to your boating gear. They are handcrafted with attention to detail – from selecting straight-grained wood to the final varnish. White birch has natural buoyancy (wooden oars will not sink completely if dropped in water) and a slight flex that softens the feel of rowing. This means less strain on your hands and shoulders during long rowing sessions.

These oars are lightweight – this model is of the “light type”, ideal for extended rowing or smaller crews. At the same time, birch is strong, and these oars can easily handle the stresses of vigorous rowing or steering the boat in windy conditions. The rectangular (“square”) blades provide good stability – with each stroke you get even resistance, which makes it easier to keep a straight course.

Each oar is protected with multiple coats of marine varnish, making them resistant to sun and water. This shields the wood from warping and cracking while also highlighting the beautiful natural grain of the birch. The grip area (handle) is smooth and comfortable, allowing for a secure hold without chafing. The handle has a slight “T” shape at the end for better control when rowing.

Choosing the right length:

200 cm (code 00754-20): Suitable for small boats (around 2–2.5 m long or boats with a narrow beam). This size is very maneuverable and is often used for narrow fishing boats, small jon boats, or rowing canoes.
230 cm (code 00754-23): A universal size, great for medium-sized boats (3–4 m). It provides more reach needed for wider boats – perfect for standard rowboats and sailing dinghies.
250 cm (code 00754-25): The longest oars in the range, recommended for larger boats (4–5 m) or boats with a wider beam. They allow for powerful strokes and better control of heavier boats, for example when rowing against a current or on bigger waters.

Wooden oars give a classic aesthetic to any boat, and many boaters prefer the feel of wood over metal. They are quiet against the gunwale and do not create vibrations.
