This Ø10.8mm female connector for the engine side is designed for Yamaha, Mercury, and Mariner outboards that are equipped with the larger fuel fitting on the engine. (Many 4-stroke models and 2-strokes above ~30–40 HP from these brands use this larger standard.) The connector attaches to the end of the fuel hose leading to the motor and serves as a quick-release coupling – it snaps onto the engine’s male connector similarly to the smaller 8mm version, but with a larger fuel passage.

Features & Benefits: The key distinction of the Ø10.8mm connector is its ability to allow higher fuel flow without causing restriction. This is crucial for more powerful outboards (e.g., 60HP, 90HP, 150HP and up) that demand more fuel at full throttle. Using the correct connector eliminates the risk of fuel starvation in the engine. This female connector fits 10mm or 3/8″ hoses and boasts a robust build: its body is impact-resistant plastic, and the internal locking mechanism is stainless steel to ensure reliable spring action and longevity.

  • Secure Locking: The engine’s fitting (male side) is usually a metal nipple with an O-ring. This female connector grips it firmly and locks via a latch mechanism, which prevents it from coming loose even under vibration and choppy conditions.
  • Air-Tight Seal: When the connector is engaged, the O-ring on the male part is compressed to create a seal that blocks air from entering and fuel from seeping out. Upon disconnection, a small built-in valve retains fuel in the hose, minimizing spillage.
  • Standard for Many Brands: Besides Yamaha and Mercury, similar connectors are used by Mariner (a Mercury brand) and Parsun, as well as some Sail outboards and other OEM manufacturers, so this connector covers a wide range of applications.

Application: If your outboard engine features a larger diameter quick-connect fitting at the fuel inlet, this product is the needed matching connector for your hose. A common indicator that you need the 10.8mm instead of 8mm is the size of the engine’s fuel fitting – when in doubt, check your manual or consult a technician. Using an undersized connector on a big engine can lead to fuel flow limitations, so it’s important to use the correct size.

Replacing an old worn connector with this new one can resolve issues such as: hard starting due to fuel pressure loss in the system, or fuel dripping around the connection during operation. The new connector will restore reliability – you’ll be able to quickly disconnect and reconnect the fuel hose for service or storage without worrying about leaks. For optimal safety, always inspect for debris and clean the connectors periodically – grit or salt buildup can damage the O-ring or mechanism. With proper care, this female connector will serve you for years, ensuring uninterrupted fuel delivery to your high-performance outboard.
