This 30A stainless steel deck inlet is designed for the most demanding conditions and for owners who value both quality and appearance. The use of solid AISI 316L stainless steel ensures the inlet will not rust or stain, even with constant saltwater exposure. The mirror shine of the cap and flange complements the deck finish – particularly suited to yachts with chromed or stainless rails, fittings, and trim. The cap has a small tab for easy opening, and when closed, it locks securely with a click. Under the lid, beyond the pins, there is a drain channel or hole that helps channel out any water droplets that might enter when the plug is removed. The backside of the inlet includes an ABS insulator which holds the pins and wire terminals firmly, while also insulating heat during high loads.
- Luxury & Longevity: Opting for a stainless steel inlet isn’t just technical – it adds a premium look to your vessel. It’s ideal for superyachts and high-end boats where every detail matters. At the same time, the practical benefit is that there is no paint or coating to peel off – the metal itself resists scratches, and with polishing it can regain its original luster even after years.
- Harsh Operating Conditions: The inlet is proven to perform reliably even when subjected to constant wave spray or occasional submersion in rough seas. IPX7 means that if your deck is flooded temporarily, it won’t compromise the electrical system – the interior remains dry. Of course, it’s always recommended to keep the cap tightly closed when the plug is not inserted.
- Compatibility: The stainless inlet accepts all standard 30A plugs. It particularly works well with locking rings – many 30A plugs come with a threaded collar that screws onto a threaded inlet. This model provides the corresponding threading/ridge for such plugs, which further secures the connection. Additionally, if you use 16A adapters or reducers (for instance, Marinco 16A-to-30A adapters), the inlet is versatile enough to work with them, as long as they conform to IEC standards.
- Safety Investment: While initially more expensive than plastic alternatives, the stainless inlet virtually eliminates the need for replacement due to corrosion or breakage. This translates to fewer repairs and worries in the long run. For maintenance, simply rinse with fresh water after extreme conditions and occasionally apply a thin coat of protective wax or oil made for stainless steel to prevent any surface spotting.
