This replacement cap is designed for plastic fuel tanks and jerry cans used on boats. It has a standard thread diameter of about 61 mm, making it compatible with many models of portable marine fuel tanks (e.g., 12 L, 22 L, 30 L tanks). It is made from high-quality plastic that resists damage from fuel and UV rays, ensuring a long service life.
The cap features an integrated vent valve for proper tank breathing. When the engine is running and fuel is drawn from the tank, a vacuum can form – by unscrewing the small vent knob on the cap, air is allowed to enter to equalize the pressure, so fuel flow remains uninterrupted. When transporting or storing the tank, this vent should be tightened closed to prevent fuel leakage or evaporation through the cap.

  • Compatibility: Fits a wide range of portable fuel tank brands and models (EVAL, Lalizas, Mercury, Yamaha, etc.) that use a standard large (~61 mm) screw cap. Check your tank’s specifications for compatibility.
  • Safety: Proper venting prevents engine stalling due to vacuum in the tank and protects the tank from deformation. Additionally, keeping the vent closed during transport minimizes the risk of fuel spilling out.
  • Replacement: Very easy to replace – simply unscrew the old cap and hand-tighten the new cap in its place. An excellent solution if the original cap is lost, cracked, or not venting properly.
  • Usage: Before starting the engine, ensure the vent valve on the cap is open (loosened) so the tank can breathe. After operating or when carrying the tank, tighten the vent valve to avoid fuel fumes and spillage.
