Stainless Steel AISI 304 Hinge 117x40mm – Economical Marine Hinge
This 304 stainless steel hinge combines reliability with an affordable price, making it a popular choice for many onboard applications. Measuring 117 mm in length and 40 mm in width, it’s suitable for smaller hatches, cabinet doors, folding tables, and other moving parts on the boat. AISI 304 material provides basic corrosion protection in both freshwater and saltwater environments, especially when the hinge is installed in protected areas or indoors (such as in the cabin or under cover).
The design is lightweight and compact, yet sturdy enough for the typical loads of small doors and lids. The 2 mm leaf thickness ensures the hinge remains stable during opening, without bending under normal use. The screw holes are countersunk, meaning screw heads will sit flush upon installation – this gives a professional finish and prevents snagging. The hinge operates smoothly, allowing trouble-free opening and closing with no squeaks or sag over time.
While 304 stainless steel doesn’t match the extreme corrosion resistance of 316 in the harshest conditions, it performs very well in milder service. This makes the hinge perfect for interior fittings or for boats primarily used in freshwater or stored under cover between outings. If hardware is needed for the most demanding environments (constant open saltwater exposure), a 316 version might be preferred, but for most standard purposes this 304 hinge will provide years of dependable service.

- Easy Installation: Mounts with four screws (screws are not included). Using stainless steel screws is recommended to avoid galvanic corrosion between the hinge and fasteners. Installation can be handled by DIY enthusiasts with common tools.
