The base of a manual marine toilet provides structural support and a watertight connection between the pump and the porcelain bowl. If this plastic base becomes damaged – for example, cracked from long use or impact – the toilet may wobble or leak at the bottom. Replacing the faulty base with a new one restores the system’s integrity and saves cost by avoiding the purchase of a whole new toilet.
Usage & Guidelines:
- This replacement base is compatible with most standard manual marine toilets, including TMC model 01430 and its equivalents. Verify your toilet’s model or part number to ensure compatibility.
- When replacing, carefully detach the pump and toilet bowl from the old base. Clean all gaskets and sealing surfaces before installing the new base to ensure a good fit.
- The new base comes with pre-drilled mounting holes. Use the original bolts (or stainless steel replacements) to secure the base firmly to the floor (deck) of the head compartment.
- Make sure all seals (between the base and bowl, as well as between the base and pump) are properly seated or replaced during reassembly – this ensures there will be no leaks after the repair.
- After the base replacement, your toilet will sit sturdy and secure, ready for use without any leaking. This is especially important in rough seas or turbulence, where a solid mounting prevents damage or loosening.
